I think the edited one looks better-more real. I think it was just because the shadow on the first looked like it was just a deeper red and it looked...weird.

I like the color on the second one better, so I'll work with that some more. Any suggestions?

Hmm...the first thing I noticed on the first one was the stark contrast between his nose and eyes, and his fur. I thought his eyes looked like he had on eyeliner lol
So perhaps you could work on that?

Hmm... yeah, I noticed that too. So I tried to fix it on the second one... maybe #2 is just too bright? I certainly like the blend better, it all fits, even if he looks like cherry koolaid... so maybe I should try darker? Or a lower saturation, perhaps...
