The Moon's Slumber

*Hitoban's eyes flutter open seconds after Wahya and Dante finished talking to each other. She smiled and looked at Tsuki's sleeping figure. She looked over to Dawn and Kage who were nestled together on the ground a few feet away from Tsuki and herself. Then her eyes flashed to where Twilight was last, sniffing the air to stimulate her memory. Twilight's eyes were closed, but he was leaning against a tree; he was pretending to sleep for the benefit of the others. Hitoban growled softly and he opened an eye, looking at her. She stood silently and walked over to him, not stopping at the tree. He silently followed her as they went into the woods.*

"Yes, Hitoban? What did you want to talk about?"

"Your powers of perception are incredible Twilight, figure it out yourself."

"I know what you want to say and I'd just like to ask you not to say it."

"Why shouldn't I? It's not like it would hurt you. You have Sheeta and your pup after all."

*Twilight took a step closer to her and his face was right next to hers. She didn't move and her cold eyes kept him a safe distance from her heart.*

"That doesn't mean I don't still love you Hitoban!"

"You never loved me Twilight. What you feel right now is lust, not love. You don't love me and you never have."

"Don't say that Hitoban. I've always loved you babe. You and I getting mates changes nothing between us."

"It changes everything Twilight! You're such a fool..."

"Why am I a fool? I'm a fool for loving you??"

"Yes!"

"Why?"

"Because I don't love you! I've never loved you Twilight. I never have and I never will. I love Tsuki with all of my heart and I'm not throwing love away for lust. You need to leave me. You cannot be with me. I do not love you, when will you understand that??"

"I won't. Why don't you love me Hitoban?"

"Love isn't something you choose. I don't love you because love doesn't agree with you. I know you love me, but love doesn't agree with me either. And I'm fairly positive Sheeta loves you too, but I hardly think love agrees with her since you love me and not her."

"I can't leave you Hitoban."

"What about Dawn? Don't you care about her at all? She knows the situation between us, and she's on my side. You have your mate and I have the love of my life. It's time to move on Twilight. I could feel your eyes on me from the moment I saw you. You haven't gotten over me yet, and I know it's hard, but babe...babe you've gotta let me go."

*Tears started to run down Twilight's face and he jerked it away, trying to hide them. Hitoban's eyes softened and she spoke softly and calmly.*

"Twilight...I love you...but I'm not in love with you. You need to understand that."

"I understand... I'm sorry for barging in on your life. Can we pretend like this never happened...any of it? Can we just start from scratch?"

"Sure. You'll always be my brother Twilight. Not in the literal sense, but you will always be like the brother I've never had. You cannot, however, be my lover. I'm sorry."

*Twilight nodded and nuzzled Hitoban briefly before turning and walking back to the others, Hitoban following behind him.*

[Wahya Ayawisgi]

Wahya lays down and studies the pendant more, curious of how this thing is suppose to work. How in the world am I suppose to use this thing if I dont even know how to!!.

"Maybe you should try threatening him for the way!"

Wahya's eyes widen to the sound of voice that sounded familiar, he looked around, but saw no one talking to him.

*When Hitoban re-entered the group, she saw that Wahya was awake. She lay down next to Tsuki again and whispered to him.*

"Wahya? Did you sleep well?"

[Wahya Ayawisgi]

Wahya looks over to Hitoban and tries to ignore what he heard was just his imagination, "Uhhh... well no, I dont ussaully sleep....."

"We know why you dont sleep, you just dont want me to come out!"

Wahya trys to ignore it again.

*Hitoban tilts her head in confusion.*

"Well, that can't be good for your health."

[Wahya Ayawisgi]

Wahya shrugs, "I can list other things that could be worse fore my health than not getting any sleep." Wahya looks around still curious at where the voice was coming from. He looks back to Hitoban, "So what about you?"

*Hitoban looked at Tsuki and smiled.*

"Perfectly."

[Wahya Ayawisgi]

Wahya looks at where Hitoban was looking and just chuckles, "I see, well I cant wait till we see this land of yours.... whenever that is" Wahya chuckles again.

[Tsukikage]

Tsuki hadn't moved, but he had woken up about the same time as Hitoban. His body was a little stiff, so he figured he'd take it slowly, then he heard Twilight. He wasn't sure what to think. He just stared into space, trying to get a grasp on the whole thing. He trusted Hitoban, but... Hito and Twilight? No she wouldn't... His thought was interrupted by Hitoban. She was telling him to let her go. Tsuki sighed. There really was nothing to be afraid of. He decided to act asleep so she wouldn't know, after all, nothing had changed between them, so it was all good. He'd let her know later, if it came up.

Kage had also woken up, he'd heard none of the conversation though. He looked and saw Dawn's head, still nestled on his chest. If my seal glowed... he thought, chuckling to himself softly. He took a quick peek around, but decided not to disturb Dawn's sleep, after all that had occurred. He saw Dante and Mar were still asleep, but he could feel Tsuki's mind, Why aren't you getting up? Hitoban is over there chatting it up with Wahya.
Just a little stiff. Tsuki insisted.
Kage smiled, You're a rotten liar, Tsuki. But he left it there, No sense pressing the matter if you don't wanna say anything, that's just asking for trouble. Keep your little secret, just as long as it doesn't make a mess of things.
Tsuki smiled, Thank you. It won't. This was between Hitoban and Twilight, and she was honorable about it. Tsuki was just happy that Hito had chosen him in the first place. His mind drifted back to the first time they met... she knocked him to the ground and asked whether or not he wanted to be a wolf. That stuck with him all these years, and he'd finally chosen to be content with who he was. He owed Hito so much...

[Wahya Ayawisgi]

Wahya's ear point in the direction of noises. He looks and sees that everyone was starting to get up. Wahya walks over to the others with a roll of his shoulder, "Everyone sleep fine?"

[Tsukikage]

Kage scowled at Wahya, then tilted his head down towards Dawn, in an attempt to indicate that she was still sleeping, and that Kage didn't wish for her to be disturbed.

Tsuki, on the other hand, got up very slowly and shook all over, trying to work the kinks out. He nodded at Wahya, then trotted over and spoke softly, "Yeah, just fine. Hey I thought you had left already... what's up?" Tsuki spotted the crystal hanging from Wahya's neck, "Hey, is that new?"

Dante sat up and stared at Wahya, but he didn't say a word. He wanted to see what he would tell them. Of course, they'd probably figure out that it was from him, but he didn't want his health situation to be known yet...

[Wahya Ayawisgi]

Wahya looks at the jewel, "Oh this thing? I found it on the ground, and it reminded me of something so I wanted to make it to a necklace. Why does it look bad or something?" Wahya noticed Dante looking at him but Wahya did not look that way so that it didnt give anything away.

[Tsukikage]

Dante smiled and laid back down. Wahya had proven his merit.

Tsuki tilted his head, "No no, it looks great. It just looks like something I saw Dante give my dad once." Tsuki glanced at Dante, and thought to ask, but decided to let him keep sleeping. He looked back at Wahya, "I'll ask my dad if he lost his, I haven't seen him wear it since we left his territory, Hyle." Tsuki's expression suddenly became very worrisome, "Hey, can you keep a secret?"

[Wahya Ayawisgi]

Wahya raises a eyebrow, "Uh, sure, something important?"

[Tsukikage]

Tsuki peered around, then moved his head closer to Wahya. "I'm worried about Dante." He whispered, "He's been feeling so... sad, and regretful, and a little nostalgic... he seems to be peaceful about it all, so it doesn't hurt me to feel it... but it's like he's getting ready to die, or something. You've got to swear you won't tell anyone! Especially not Dante or dad, not 'till I'm sure." He moved back and shrugged, "I can only tell by feeling, so it's not definite, but I get this weird feeling from him; I don't know how else to explain it."
