Rin lifted her head tiredly she had been half asleep when she heard Hitoban, she leaned over and nudged her brother,"Come on Kaze get up, we're moving out..." Kaze jerked awake and nodded, they stood and stretched and padded over to wait with Hitoban.

Kage seemed shocked by Dawn's voice, "Wha-? How can I be? I can't be killed, but if I can't stop him from hurting the ones I love, and I can't count on Wahya anymore... what am I to do?"
Tsuki shot a glance at Kage, You have to trust Wahya to handle it. Not only is it your best option, but believing in him again will give him strength. People will live up or down to your expectations... remember that.
Kage absorbed this information, and the reality of it hit him like a ton of bricks: this fear was paralyzing him, consuming his every thought. Maybe this is what had happened to Uncle Oben... at any rate, staying here like this was only hurting everyone more; he had to trust Wahya, whether he liked it or not. He stood slowly, and fixed his jade eye on the tears rolling down Dawn's face. Fear was still eating away at his rational thought like a virus, but now he had a reason to hold on to what sanity he had left. "Dawn...?" His voice was full of uncertainty, like he couldn't decide whether he was making a statement or asking a question, "Don't... CRY!!!..." He shook himself, trying to pull it together, "We'll get through this, you and me... that's right... together..." He was fidgeting slightly, "We need to get going before these 'night creatures' show up... you with me?" My nerves are shot, Tsuki. I'm incapable of protecting anyone right now. I feel like I want to cry, and scream, and kill, and bash my head against a wall, all at once. If I go mad... I want you to stop me... can you do it?
Tsuki nodded solemnly, Yes... but the only way is to chain you up inside me, so you can't escape... but you'll eat away at me like when we were in the city... insanity will take both of us, anyway... if it comes to that.
Kage flinched, Then pray for me...
Tsuki turned to Hitoban, and struggled to his feet, "There's... ngh! No..." he breathed heavily as he began limping his way toward Hito, his fur already damp with sweat, "There's no way you're leaving me behind!" His eyes were blazing with determination, "I'm an alpha too, remember? We're in this together, all the way!"
Mar attempted to pick Tsuki up again, but Tsuki managed to bite him on the nose. Tsuki wasn't strong enough to break skin, or even hurt, for that matter, but he got his point across.
Tsuki turned to Kage, "Let's go, brother, we've got places to be!"
Kage nodded. They were both spent. They probably only had an hour or two before they just keeled over and died. But there was work to be done... We can't let them down, no matter what. They thought in unison, and their seals gave off a faint blue glow.

*Hitoban smiled and nodded at Tsuki. Good...I don't think I'd be able to leave you behind if I wanted to...*
*Dawn nuzzled Kage and did her best to dry her tears. She was acting like a child. People were depending on her. She couldn't be crying now...She walked with Kage over to the now small group that had formed.*
I'm with you My Lady...my sister.
"And I with you...sister."
*They smiled at each other. Daisuke padded over to Maname and got her up and following him over to the group. There he sat down and waited for Hina.*
*Hina saw the group that had formed and then to Wahya. She nudged him gently.*
It looks like we're leaving. Let's go Wahya, okay?

Mar walked very close to both Tsuki and Kage, while Shimo and Tsubasa opted to guard the rear. "I can see sound for now," he explained, "So I can 'see' anything approaching from behind long before it reaches us, and Tsubasa can tell me what exactly I'm detecting. Is that all right with you, Miss Hitoban?"
Mar looked to Hito and Tsuki, "Other than marching orders, I'd say most of us are ready to go, wouldn't you say Little Miss?" He knew moving on must be an urgent matter, considering the fragile condition some of them were in.

Khaza shook off and was just about ready to go. Tenshi curled her tail over slightly and nodded. "Looks like were going..."

*Maname got up and began to walk over to the group, but Daisuke nudged her.*
What about Hina? We can't just leave her.
We're not going to leave her Brother. I'm just going to go over and wait for her there.
*Daisuke looked from Maname to Hina, then back to Maname, then to Shimo. He sighed and shook his head.*
Fine, but I'm not leaving without Hina. I'll wait right here.
*Maname nodded and trotted over to sit beside Shimo.*
*Hitoban looked first to the group, who were all ready to go, then to the three stragglers. She sat down and shook her head decisively.*
"Moving on is important, but I won't leave anyone behind. It's better to stand as a group than to walk alone. That's what my Father always said, anyway. We will wait for Hina, Daisuke, and Wahya."

Mar was displeased with the news. It was evident to him that "standing together" would almost certainly be "falling together", considering the condition some of them were in. Tsuki nodded, then stared at the ground sleepily. Mar approached Hitoban privately, sitting his massive body between her and unwanted ears.
"Not to seem disrespectful," He began in a hushed tone, "but I don't think it's a good idea to stay here. You said yourself that it was dangerous at night; we should get moving. If our guests want to stay behind, then that's their prerogative, and shouldn't dictate what you do for the safety of the pack. That's just my opinion. Not only that -- and I know we still have some capable fighters left... but there are a few of us who can't take another fight yet... I'm just worried about my boys, that's all." He looked over his shoulder at Tsuki and Kage. They were both shaky, like a strong enough wind could shatter them like glass. He looked back down at Hitoban, "However, you are alphess, and I will abide by your decision, so answer me like you would anyone; set aside any idea of courtesy for Tsuki's sake and tell me flat-out what you think, okay?"

*Hitoban listened respectfully to what Mar had to say, then looked back to the others. Indecision raged through her mind as she tried to decide what to do. The sun had fallen below the horizon now and Hitoban heard a faint rustle in the leaves. She looked to Hina, Wahya, and Daisuke, then back to the others. She looked at Tsuki and Kage, then Dawn. Dawn gave her a half smile and Hitoban sighed. She hated to leave anyone behind, but there was no more time. The night creatures would be getting here soon, and she couldn't risk the safety of her family. She looked Mar straight in the eyes, her own crimson ones burning like fire.*
"As much as I hate to leave anyone behind, there is no time left. We must leave now. I only hope they catch up before the night creatures get here...But for now, there's nothing we can do."
*Hitoban stood up and walked over to Tsuki.*
"Alright, let's go everyone!"
*She began leading the group toward the rising moon, to the shelter of the trees on the other side.*
*Maname watched in horror as Hitoban started leading them away from her siblings and Wahya. A storm raged in her eyes as she tried to decide whether to stay with her family, or go where it's safest. Even though she knew they would probably be alright, she couldn't just leave them. She turned around and padded back over to Daisuke.*
They're leaving, Brother. It's no longer safe to stay here. Go and fetch Hina and let's go with them.
I do not know if she will leave him. She clearly cares for him. Lady Hitoban chose her family over strangers and a close friend, but that doesn't mean Hina will. She's too headstrong. She won't leave without him...I guarantee it.
That's unacceptable! It is not safe here! Four of us against anything out there that chooses to show it's face? We won't win Daisuke! We need to go!
Tell that to Hina!
*Maname made a small Humph sound and plopped down next to Daisuke. She looked around in the trees wearily. Somewhere far away she heard a screech of something dying. She shuddered and moved closer to Daisuke, looking back to the now leaving group.*

Rin paused at the edge of the forest and turned to look back at Daisuke and the others, she looked at her brother who just shrugged, "I'll meet up with you and the others later..." Rin muttered quietly before silently turning and darting back over to Daisuke and Maname. "I'll wait with you until everyone is ready to move out...If you don't mind that is..." she said kinda hesitantly, she trusted these wolves but she was just a shy wolf by nature, until she warmed up to them anyway. Kaze nodded and silently wished his sister a safe journey back before following behind Hitoban and the others.

Rin chuckled and stared off into space for a few seconds, "Nowhere is ever safe for me...." She shook her head and looked over to Maname, "I'll stay...Hitoban didn't want to leave you here by yourselves, and she has a prior comitment to the rest of her pack, I will stay here on her behalf....though she probably won't like it...." Rin shrugged and looked over towards the rising moon before perking her ears and listening intently for any sign of danger.

*Maname, who's ears were better than any others she knew of, suddenly perked her ears and looked off in the direction of the trees, immediately alert. Daisuke too became alert because he smelled fresh blood being spilled. Maname had heard the sound of bones being crunched, growls, whimpering, and blood spattering against the ground.*
Brother...
I smell it...Hina...come on...
I'm more concerned about Wahya coming on. If he doesn't leave, Hina wont.[/i
She's such a fool...
*Maname decided not to tell Rin that there was anything the matter just yet. No need to make her frantic when it might not even get here, after all...*

Rin continued to look towards the rising moon though she felt the others become alert, but if they didn't wish to tell her, she wouldn't press, though she could sense something was wrong but she couldn't put a paw on what it could be.

Mar let out a sigh of relief, "Thank you, Hitoban. If you wish it, I will go back to help safeguard your guests."
Tsuki and Kage were helping each other press on, and that was a comforting sight to see, but still... If there is something out there, then I should put my size and strength to good use at last. Besides, it will at least buy the boys some time...
Shimo saw noises coming from behind, and Tsubasa confirmed that it was Wahya, Daisuke, Hina, Maname, and a creature approaching, but it was harder to see at that distance with the failing light. The most prudent course of action was not to alarm anyone until they were sure what the creature was... after all, it could be an owl, or a snake, or any number of harmless creatures, in which case an alarm would be for nothing... but on the other hand... No... best wait 'til Tsubasa can ID it.
