*Hitoban shook her head.*

"No, I'd rather keep as many people together as possible."

*Hitoban's nose twitched and she nearly stopped in her tracks. There was a night creature approching, fast. She took a deep breath and sped up. First thing's first-get them to safety. Then she could find out if the others were okay.*

"Let's hurry guys. The moon's getting high..."

Khaza and Tenshi caught up quickly. Khaza padded beside Rin. She looked to the black wolf with her. "Who might you be?" Khaza hadn'e caught his name. Tenshi walked along at Khaza's side.

ooc: uh Khaza...Rin left like three or four posts ago to go wait with Daisuke and the others....lol ^^

Kaze picked up the pace to keep up with the group and looked over to Khaza, "I'm Kaze, Rins' younger brother... and you are?"

Tsuki couldn't move any faster, so Mar scooped him up and carried him the rest of the way. Kage stayed close to Dawn. He heard the same noise Hitoban had... and it scared him. He wanted to break down. He wanted to give up and let that God-forsaken night creature eat him and get it over with. Unfortunately, he couldn't be eaten anyway, just scared out of his mind. He curled up in a little ball and stared off into the night.
"Kage!" Mar snapped. No response, "Damnit, Kage!"
Mar trotted back and bit into Kage's shoulder and dragged him along.
"Leave me! I'm no good to anyone! Just let me die..." Kage cried.
Mar released him and swiped his paw across Kage's nose. "Get a hold of yourself, man! You can't die, so do what you can with your life! There are people here who need you! So suck it up and be a wolf, for God's sake! You've got to do this!"
Kage did not even move.
"What are you afraid of?!? Letting us down? Failing? Not being able to protect Dawn? Is that it?"
Kage huddled back into a ball and cried.
"You can't protect anyone like this! As long as you let that fear control you, you will fail. Period."
...Nothing... Kage was beyond his father's reach for now. Mar trotted back to the convoy and spoke with Dawn. "Kage is gone... I can't do anything to help him. I'm... I'm afraid the only way to snap him out of it is for him to have to protect you... but if he doesn't... Damnit! I don't know what to do."
Tsuki sighed, "Well, he has no choice but to keep up if we keep going, so that's what we must do for now."

*Dawn nodded solemnly and padded up to the balled-up Kage. She leaned her head down and nuzzled his cheek, licking his nose. She spoke to him in soothing tones.*

Come on Kage...let's just get to the waterfall. There's nothing to fear. You're strong and you can get through this. I know you can. I believe in you Kage. Now please, for me, let's go.

[Wahya Ayawisgi]

Wahya snaps to reality as he was thinking about what words was given by Hina. He quickly looks around to notice that everyone else has left. Wahya blinks a couple times then looks to the sky, it was dark. I guess Hitoban and the others pushed on to safer grounds.

Wahya turns to Hina, "Did they leave recently or have I been "out there" longer than I thought?"

Khaza nodded to Kaze then looked to Tenshi. "I thought you was a traveler Tenshi, it seems wierd that your coming" Tenshi chuckled. "Yeah, i don't know why im coming, just felt like a change" Khaza smiled. It was good to see Tenshi again.

Kage's eye was wide open, and it did not fix on anything. Even his empty socket was open. It was almost as if he were hypnotized; no expression, or emotion, or anything.
He let out a heavy sigh, then finally rose, "Very well, Dawn."
After walking a ways from that spot, his face suddenly burst into a pained expression. "What's wrong with me, Dawn? Why can't I do this? I used to be strong, right? So what the hell happened?" He burst into tears, and only continued to push himself forward for her sake.
You believed you were less than who you are. That's what happened.
"Tsu..Tsuki?"
Do you know anyone else that can talk in your head? Tsuki laughed, So, Wahya scared you bad, huh? But you won, and you can do it again if you have to. I know you, bro, you never give up when there are lives on the line. You're strong, and brave, and that's the truth. In fact, I think you'd probably make a better alpha than me.
Kage laughed, No way. If I were the alpha right now, the pack would've abandoned me, and I'd be sitting back there with my tail between my legs. You... you have that inner strength, even if your body is damaged. Thank you, Tsuki, I think I understand now. "Thank you, Dawn. You have given my life so much more meaning, you know that? You, uh... you're my reason to keep going." Kage's face was warm and full of life again. He reached over and licked Dawn on the muzzle, then picked up the pace, "Now come on, we've got to catch back up... or..." he slowed back down a bit and blushed, "we could... walk alone for a little... if you want."

*Dawn smiled, glad to have Kage back to normal and nodded.*

We can stay back here for a while.

*Dawn nuzzled his neck as they walked slowly onward.*

*Hina chuckled a little at Wahya's lost expression.*

"Well, they didn't leave too long ago, but they're nearing the trees. I think we'd better go and catch up, don't you? After all, the moon is high and Lady Hitoban said something about "night creatures". We've been hearing things as well and I think my little sis is getting scared."

I am not! I am just as brave as the both of you!

*The breeze rustled the tree's leaves and Maname cowered slightly into Daisuke's fur. Daisuke and Hina chuckled, but Maname could hear what was coming, and though Daisuke could smell it, he couldn't tell what it had been doing.*

Um... Mister Wahya? I also think we need to go...

Wahya's ears twitched to the sound, he turns his head and glances in the direction of the sound, he sense of smell was not that great, but he could hear very well. He nods, "Yeah lets start to move, sitting in one spot can cause problems for us." Wahya stands and looks to Hina, Maname Daisuke.

Tenshi paused slightly and looked back over her shoulder. She didn't know this territory well and decided she wanted to stay near someone who did. She looked to Khaza who gave her a blank expression. Tenshi sighed. "Do you know the right way?" Khaza gave an uncertain look. "Uh...yeah...sure i do!" Khaza turned away slightly and her fae fell. Dang it! she didn't know at all. Tenshi looked a bit more hopeful and bounced along. Khaza bit her tounge. Damn she could be be so stupid at times. She groaned to herself then looked back to Tenshi. "Ok now i don't know the way. I did a moment ago...but not any more..." The bounce from Tenshi's pace went and her fur darkened for a second. "Not good..." Khaza's ear flicked forward as she heard a noise, she spun around bracing herself and looked between the trees behind them. Tenshi looked over her shoulder cautious. Khaza's lip curled back as she thought she saw eyeshine.

Shimo had followed ahead of Kage with the others, but made sure he could see their sounds. He approached Hitoban, "Excuse me, I don't mean to complain, Miss Hitoban, but how much farther is it?"

*Hina, Daisuke, ana Maname panicked slightly when they lost sight of the others, so they quickened their pace, Hina traveling beside Wahya, Maname in front of her, and Daisuke in the very front, leading the troupe by his nose.*

It looks as if we're nearly there. Let's just hope nothing out there is fast enough to catch us before we hit the trees.

*Maname and Hina nodded agreement.*

Wahya looks to them then back to where he heard the noise, he narrows his eyes then looks back infront of him. "Come on, lets get going." Wahya starts to walk following the others.

Khaza pounced through the tree and saw it was wahya and the others. Tenshi followed khaza closely then breathed a sigh of relife. "Not lost anymore Khaza"
