A sound bounced across Shimo's vision, causing him to stop in his tracks. Someone else was nearby. Perhaps it was the waterfall, but those sound waves were evenly spaced, and still rather distant. He squinted, trying hard to distinguish them before they disappeared. Someone had fallen on something, maybe a tree branch. His brain quickly ran through the wolves he knew who could make sound waves that size, based on what he guessed about the objects involved. It was most likely female, but most of them were too similar to tell from this distance. He decided to wait it out and get some rest. If it was a friend, they'd catch up in no time... if not...

[OCC]OMG I bursted into a hysterical laughing fit when I read the thing about pinning your head Tsuki. I'd totally forgotten about that lol[/OCC]
Hitoban was taken aback for a second when Shimo buried his face in her chest (she hadn't really expected him to, but it was a nice surprise) but quickly recovered. She smiled and watched him walk away, then padded over to Bounder and sat beside him. She figured he'd been watching the scene rather confusedly and she thought she'd talk to him a bit.
"You might not know it, but I actually do that often...I tend to state my mind, sometimes more than necessary." She laughed lightly and smiled at Mar. Giving a motivating speech always rose her spirits.
Suddenly she was struck with an urgency. She couldn't tell what it was, but she knew there was more than one reason hidden in it. She could clearly identify the first, most nagging urge-she wanted to be with Tsuki right now and she wanted to burst off and go find him, leaving the others in her dust but knew she couldn't and wouldn't-but there was another there. It was something strange, like a far-off noise had caught her attention and she wanted to find it because she felt like something was wrong.
She stood up and shook her head, the urgency overpowering the pain, and looked to the others.
"Not to hurry things along too much but I've got this nagging feeling that we need to get going. Bounder, you are welcome to come as well."
With that, she resumed her place at the back of the sled and waited for Shimo's signal to push.

Rin awoke a few seconds later to see the white wolf that had saw her collapse earlier, but this time he had a dark grey wolf standing next to him. Rin gave a soft growl and attempted to stand, after stuggling to her feet and managing to stand there she glared defiantly at them, "What are you doing here!"
The dark grey smirked, "What else would be here for Rin?" Rin flinched as he smirked, "Other than to finish what you started.....how long has it been now? a year?"
Rin growled, "What the hell does it matter!? I want you gone...NOW!" The white wolf chuckled, "Oh, come now sister don't be that way, we just got here."
Rin snarled quietly and took off across the clearing at the white wolf, the white wolf smirked, "What's the point sister, you'll lose..." and he too took off across the clearing and they collided in the middle of the clearing, the whites claws sliced open Rins' side as they went rolling across the ground with the grey keeping an eye on them.

Shimo saw raised voices, but he couldn't make out what they were saying. Hitoban was right; staying here would be a mistake. He took up his spot at the front and took off, staying aware of the noises coming from behind them -- a sharp break in the sound patterns, could be a slash... then what looked like... bouncing or rolling, maybe. He couldn't be sure, but he had a feeling that whatever the creatures attached to these sound waves were doing before, they were fighting now. He thought of telling Hitoban, but there was simply no time to waste discussing it, and he was concerned that in their current condition, they wouldn't be able to defend themselves if the battle engulfed them. He prayed that whatever was happening behind them would be over swiftly, and that the outcome was not more death.

The fight was going bad for Rin she was already bleeding from serveral claw and bite wounds and she was tireing fast. Her brother smirked, "Come now sis don't make this any more complicated than it has to be..." Rin snarled defiantly at her brother, who just crouched down ready to jump at her but this time the grey stopped him, "we need to be heading back Akira...don't worry you'll get a second chance to fulfill your comitment..." Akira turned to look at the grey and sighed, "Fine..."
Rin relaxed her guard, but then instantly regretted it as Akira spun and launched himself at her once agian, Rin being caught off guard couldn't react fast enough and Akiras' claws hit there mark and went the lenght of her side going over the previous gash and making it deeper, Rin was wracked with pain and her eyes went wide with shock but no sound could escape her maw and she collapsed to the ground in a pained heap. Akira and the grey laughed before turning and dissapearing into the shadows. Rin dragged herself towards the tree she had collapsed under earlier leaving a trail of blood behind her she laid down on her injured side, though she didn't feel it, and drifted into unconsiousness.

Hitoban had faintly heard voices in the distance and now there was a sudden gush of blood that raced into her nostrils. She pushed with more fervor until her forehead bled and they finally reached their destination. She looked up to see Rin laying in a small clearing. She abandoned her post and dashed over to her and looked at her wounds. She then proceeded to clean them and then dashed off to gather more herbs.
She returned with one herb and spread the goop onto her wound, then sniffed her. She was still alive for sure, so she let out a sigh. "Rin, are you okay? What happened to you?"

Mar had had enough of this little ride. He stood up, walked unsteadily to Hitoban, then picked Rin up and stumbled back, placing Rin on the sled in his place. Shimo tried to protest, but seeing Rin, and the determined look on Mar's face, he realized that nothing he could say would dissuade him. Mar looked at Rin, then raised his eyes to look at Shimo. There's got to be something you can do.
Shimo took a few seconds to figure it out, then nodded. "I'll try." He landed near Rin, and instead of cutting into her, he used some of his own blood to draw circles on her fur. He then covered one of the wounds with his mouth, and prayed. If I don't have any power left, then I hope there is a God in heaven! Either way, please heal her! He felt a weird warmth in his mouth, and something that felt like fluffy water sprayed into his mouth. He pulled away, trying to spit it out, but of course, wolves couldn't spit. When he looked again, the one gash he'd swallowed was gone. He smiled before passing out suddenly.
Mar jumped up to help, but ended up on the ground as well. Man! I almost had this... He thought, I just hope Shimo isn't hurt.

Hitoban, watching the scene, now turned to Shimo first. There was no way she'd be able to lift Mar on her own. She looked at him, nudged him onto his back, rolled him over, and nudged his mouth open, but she couldn't figure out what was wrong. Finally she just lifted him up onto her back, maneuvering around the wings, and placed him next to Rin. Then she padded over to Mar and looked at him in his eyes.
"If you go very slowly, do you think you could get yourself back onto the sled with my help? I'm in a kind of rush."

Rin opened one eye with a groan, she shook her head and rolled onto her stomach, "I can help if you wish Hitoban, she looked over to Shimo and saw his wings, "I can replace the spot Shimo was doing if you wish..." She stood, shakily at first before rolling her shoulders before looking back at Hitoban, waiting for her answer.

Mar pulled himself up, then moved uneasily to the sled. No, it'd be too much for Hitoban to do this on her own... He lifted Shimo onto his back, then trudged on slowly, but steadily. If I take it slow, I should be able to... His thought was pierced by a sharp pain in his shoulder. He stumbled, but got back to his feet, shifting Shimo's position to keep the weight off that shoulder. He motioned for Hitoban and Rin to follow. They were the walking-wounded, but as long as they could walk, that would be enough. You can do this, Mar; it's not that much farther. He convinced himself, Once we reach Tsuki and the others, you can have a nice long nap, and enough time to heal before you head home. I hope Jira and the others are all right.

Hitoban shook her head to Rin, but before she could reply she was cut short by Mar lifting Shimo and walking away. She stood stunned for a minute, then rushed after him. She walked beside him, knowing she would try her best to catch him if he should fall.
"Are you sure you can do this Mar? You wouldn't rather ride?"

Mar kept pushing along, the strain obvious on his face. He looked to Hitoban for a moment, and tried to say something. "Can...t...spec...t...of..." He panted heavily. D.amn! So close. You probably can't hear my thoughts, Little Miss, but I can't expect it of you to get us all home on your own steam. I'm not sure what happened to Shimo, but as long as I can walk, I won't be a burden on you. He stopped and stared into her eyes, trying to convey this one desire to her. If only he could talk... this trip was getting more and more complicated all the time. He tried once more, but this time, he narrowed it down to a few words, hoping it would make sense. "N-not...nesssssery...I...wawk." Oh gawd, I sound like an infant! At least my vocal chords are functioning again. He nodded deeply, then continued trudging along toward the growing sound of water.

Hitoban smiled at Rin, then looked back into Mar's eyes. She understood his need to be of help and nodded, then turned and continued walking. They were so close she could smell the water mixing with the stone of the waterfall. All they had to do now was go through these bushes and they'd be in the clearing she called home.
[occ]We shall continue this in the waterfall board. Until you're actually underwater you're not in the grotto, so you should all reply in the waterfall.[/occ]
