New Comer

ooc: sorry hoped I spelled comer right....lol ^^ if I didn't oh well. And I'm sorry if this kinda rambles, I haven't quite figured out his personality yet...)

A black wolf with silver guard hairs moved through the territory, knowing he was intruding but almost not caring, he walked with his eyes closed, but never tripped or ran into anything, but then again he was used to walking with his eyes closed. He was an outcast, no other pack would take him in, so he wandered around from pack to pack, in a way almost wishing to find a pack that would except him for who he was not what he looked like. The wolf walked slowly, like he was an elderly wolf but he was in fact quite young, just a little over three years old, but then again he was a cursed wolf, and he had paid the price for this curse, and it had shattered his body. His ears soon picked up the sound of a waterfall, he walked out into the middle of the clearing his sense of smell telling him this was where the wolves that ran this territory lived. With a sigh he slowly lowered into a sitting position and waited to see how long it would take till he was noticed by one of them.

[Tsukikage]

Tsuki emerged from the waterfall cave, looking around for Hitoban. His eyes skimmed over a far too conspicuous shadow as they continued searching. Tsuki even caught the unfamiliar scent, but for one reason or another, it didn't register with him until he walked passed and asked the dark wolf if he'd seen Hitoban...

"Have you seen Hito--" He began, "Wait... I'm sorry, you aren't from around here, are you? Er... they call me Tsuki, and I'm the alpha around here. Who might you be, and what is your business here?"

[Rynn]

The black wolf chuckled and turned to face Tsuki, though he still kept his eyes closed. "No, I'm not from around here." He bowed his head, "My name is Raist, its a pleasure to meet you Tsuki." He sat back up straight still not opening his eyes. "And I mean no harm here, I'm just a wanderer, and an outcast from all packs I've come across so far."

[Tsukikage]

Tsuki tilted his ears curiously. "Oh? Well, Raist, perhaps it's because you don't look people in the eye."
Tsuki's tone was relatively friendly, but he tried to be forceful enough with his words so that he could be polite, without mistaking his request.
"Does the sun hurt your eyes, or are you simply blind?"

[Rynn]

Raists' ears flicked back for a few seconds, this was always the question that was asked before he would be thrown out of the pack, but he sighed mentally he was used to it by now, one more pack wouldn't kill him. Raist gave a small half smile, "No, I am not blind, nor does the sun hurt my eyes....My eyes are the reason I have been an outcast for so long." He chuckled softly, " I learned long ago to walk without sight its not so hard once your used to it, even in unfamiliar territory I manage to get around on my own....but wandering can get quite boring sometimes...." Raist then realized he was rambling and bowed his head again, "I'm sorry, didn't mean to start rambling about stuff you aren't really interested in I'm sure. Though the reason I've been outcasted for so long probably has you as curious as the other Alphas I've met...I am dagerous to none but myself..." With that he fell silent to see what Tsukis' reply would be.

[Tsukikage]

"They... they exile you because of your eyes?" Tsuki asked. "That doesn't make sense -- there's nothing you can do about your eyes, they're the ones you were... born... with..."
Tsuki grimaced... no, things can be changed, he and Kage were proof enough of that. There were enough magicks in the world still to be dangerous and life-altering. That's why they were all here, anyway.
"Well, Raist, let me tell you a little about us. My brother and I were stuffed into one body when we were little, my own father was mutated and nearly died when he tried to kill us, then he altered the very fabric of reality to save me. We've fought demons, and sacrificed so much to keep us all together and safe -- as safe as we can be with all this magick, anyway. We have power here... and curses. But we deal." Tsuki sighed, "My point is this: if you've got nowhere else to go, then I welcome you here. My pack has dealt with things that more sensible packs would've shunned us for long ago, but we've never given up on anyone."

"He's... right." Shimo's voice came from the edge of the woods. The white wolf fluttered through the air to them, and Tsuki saw that he was blind again... it was probably not a good day for him.
"M-master Tsuki and Lady H-hitoban... they take care of those of us that other packs would have nothing to do with."
Tsuki grinned, "Shimo, perhaps you ought not be flying today. Why don't you find my dad, okay?"
Shimo nodded, but before he even turned to leave, he felt the familiar thud of Mar's massive paws coming closer. It was an intriguingly graceful gait, and Shimo thought that if Mar were normal size, he wouldn't have been able to detect him at all.
"There you are, Shimo." Mar sighed, "Good... how are you feel-- hello?" he paused, seeing the newcomer, "Someone new?"
Tsuki nodded, "Dad, Shimo, this is Raist. Raist, these are the two who have probably sacrificed the most here. My father, Mar, and Shimo here... is like a brother to me."

[Rynn]

Raist nodded, "Yes, all because of my eyes, stupid really but how can I blame them...they are quite odd.." Raist sat quietly while Tsuki and Shimo spoke, he was taken by surprise when Tsuki told him he was welcome to stay here with his pack. He smiled, "If you will have me, I will gratefully accept your offer to stay here Tsuki." Then he, like Shimo, felt Mars approach, Raist bowed his head in greeting after Tsuki spoke, "Its a pleasure to meet you both."

[Tsukikage]

Tsuki nodded. "Then it's settled. I just have to find Hitoban, and make sure we can accommodate you this season; I'm not sure if we're actually prepared to take on one more just yet, but it shouldn't be a bother. If need be, you can share my food."
He turned to trot off in search of Hitoban, pausing only to say, "If you have any questions, my father and Shimo can help you, I'm sure." then he bolted off.

Mar looked the stranger over for a moment, and Shimo did the same, although it seemed more so that Shimo was looking through him, not at him. Shimo whimpered, "Your eyes are strange... are they like mine?"
"Shimo, don't be rude." Mar insisted. "My boy Shimo here has alchemy eyes. They can see all kinds of things, right down to the chemical makeup of water. The only down side is when he sees things like that, he can't see anything else -- right now, he can see every fiber of hair on your body, and even every blood vessel inside you, but he couldn't tell you what color your coat is, or that your eyes are closed. The other complication is that he can't control this power..."
Shimo tilted his head, and his face went completely blank.
"And sometimes he does that..." Mar chuckled. "Oh, I'm sorry, I forgot you can't see. Shimo's kinda conked out on us."

[Rynn]

Raists' ears tilted towards the sound of Tsuki as he ran off to find Hitoban. He listened to Shimo, and then to Mar before smiling slightly. "In a way my eyes are like Shimos, but I can't see things like he does. My eyes aren't alchemist eyes, my eyes are the eyes of a wolf who has been cursed..." And with a small sigh he opened his eyes and looked directly at Mar. Raists eyes were gold, and at first glance his eyes looked normal but if you actually looked him right in the eye you could see that his pupils were in fact in the shape of hourglasses...

[Tsukikage]

Mar stumbled, as if the wind had been knocked out of him. Shimo merely looked into the eyes, his own changed a moment, nearly reflecting Raist's... he blinked, and his eyes returned to the blank whiteness of his own curse.
"What..." Mar blurted out, as if his lungs had stopped working, and he had to force himself to speak. "What do they make you see?"
"Death." Shimo answered for him, the white eyes suddenly bursting into color. "My question is, what does that mean? Can you see dead people, or the day that a creatures die, or how even?"
As soon as Shimo had asked his question, he passed out. Mar got to his feet and checked Shimo to make sure he was still breathing, then he looked at the hourglass eyes again.
"I'm sorry for freaking out on you. You just... surprised me." Mar insisted, "Tsuki is taking you on trust, and I trust him, so I'll just have to get used to those eyes of yours. Please, don't feel like you have to hide anything like that around us just because of me."

[Rynn]

Raist saw Mars reaction and sighed mentally before turning and looking at Shimo as he spoke but before he got a chance to answer Shimos question he passed out. He then turned his attention back to Mar, "Its alright Mar....you had the same reaction as everyone else that has seen my eyes." he sighed his breath audibly raddling in his lungs. "Yes your son is taking me in on trust, but he, his mate, and the other wolves of this pack haven't seen my eyes, and they might not be so ready to trust me after that...." Raist closed his eyes for a few seconds as a spasm of pain rippled across his features, when he opened his eyes again he looked drained, physically. Raist then looked over at Shimo, "Tell him when he wakes up again, that the answer to his question is that in my eyes it is always winter, plants and trees are wilted and bare, and I can see how long creatures have left to live, sometimes I can see how they will die, but not very often..." Raist then suddenly doubled over coughing, the coughs sounded horrible and they shook his whole body. Once the fit was over he laid down looking even more drained, small flecks of blood dotted the ground and before he lifted his head to look back at Mar he licked his lips to get rid of the rest of the blood, he blinked slowly. "Sorry you had to see that...." he rasped weakly, his breath still raddling in his lungs.

[Tsukikage]

Mar quickly hoisted Raist onto his back. "Just hang on, I'll get you inside, and we can see about that nasty cough of yours."
He took a few steps, then stopped with a blank expression on his face... "This curse... is it... killing you?"

[Rynn]

Raist chuckled weakly his breath raddling in his lungs,"You don't need....to worry about me, my friend...there is nothing your healer....can do about my cough...I just need...to rest." Raist paused and listened to Mar as he spoke again, "No...my curse is not killing me, when the wolf placed...this wretched curse on me, it shattered my body, the curse gave me these cursed eyes of mine, the constant raddling of the air in my lungs as I breathe, and the coughing fits as well. Each time I have a fit...like i just did...it leaves me physically drained, but after I rest for a bit I'll be back up and moving again."

[Tsukikage]

"Mmm..." Mar nodded. "I see. So this is just a condition..."
His words trailed off with his gaze for just a moment. "Oh, but you know, we've accomplished some amazing things around here. I mean, I'm only alive thanks to Da--" he paused again to collect his thoughts...
"Because of Neo. I'm not sure if he can do it again, but he might be able to fix your body, like he did mine... except... it's very painful, and... well, I'm not exactly 'fixed', but I'm alive. I'm just... huge."
They have to get three times the normal catch just to feed me... I wonder... I'd never spoken to Neo about changing me back before... He thought as he continued walking towards the grotto. I wonder if it's even possible...

[Rynn]

Raist chuckled, "I wouldn't want to be a bother, and I've learned to live with my curse...I'll just have to manage...and if I get to be too much of a bother, I'll just move on again..." Raist blinked tiredly and closed his eyes but didn't fall asleep.
