Mayoi's "Behind the Scenes"!

One day, Mayoi was bored so she made a little "Behind the Scenes" gallery of pictures of her work place when she's lazy and stuff. Here, I will give you a view of one of my two work stations and some purposely-made sort of bad quality pictures of deleted, never-before-seen and unfinished and ugly of Mayoi's sketches for her newest comic and RP, "Ookami wa Tatakau- The Wolf Fights". :3

This is the station I work when I'm too lazy to go to my room and sketch. As you can see, various reference pictures for the comic and random sketches are scattered on my desk. An unfinished drawing is lying there, too. It be ugly, I knows.


This is the SUPER MAYOI BINDER! It does the impossible... IT KEEPS MY DRAWINGS ORGANIZED! I know, it's amazing. ;D


And this.. This is a drawing I never felt the urge to actually scan. It's.. my old style. I guess I don't like it anymore. xD


This is my super new German Shepherd character: Izaaku, or Isaac! He's an American German Shepherd, and he's newly introduced in the comic. :3 FEAR HIS FLOOFINESS!



These are sketches of Mayoi's father, Kuroi. He carries a scythe with him all the time for defense, obviously.




This... This is a random sketch. xD I drew Izaaku and newly introduced Kurozu to break my art block.


"And who the heck is Kurozu?" you ask? This is Kurozu, who's designs going to be changing because.. I plainly don't like it. xD


FINALLY! A COMIC PAGE! Meh, it was cut out anyway. This was a first sketch that never made it to the second sketch, which is the final version of it before it's scanned in my terms. And yes, I made it so you can not read it. I will post the first few pages later on in this post. :3


These are the divider pictures I use to separate the chapters of the comic. Each chapter's about 10 pages long. The first one was "Sisters of Sorrow" and the second chapter is "Brothers of Brawl". No, the chapters will not all be like that. I just made them like that for the heck of it. xD



And, the final ones for now are Wahya's reference pictures for the comic. Yes, I have permission to include Wahya and Giga (Giga now being separated from Wahya as a courtesy of my character, Koshi). And I also had permission to draw his fur colors like this since there was no full body reference picture while I was drawing this.

Woah... very nice drawings. Obviously heavy on the GNG/GDW influence. Although um... that guy with the scythe screams a mash up of the Kai Ken Bros. and Kurojaki, imo. Anywho, very nice drawings.

Thank you, Tsuki-kun. And yeah, I draw Ginga-style. Though no GDW influence.. GNG all the way, dude!

And yeah, I know Kuroi looks a lot like Kurojaki.. I didn't intentionally draw him like that, but I guess my love for the Koga dogs shows. I wanted to have character that seemed like a Koga dog, but wasn't (since Kuroi is really a dog-looking wolf. But I DID want to add the double color Mohawk, I admit. xD)

And Kuroi's stripe pattern.. influenced from the Kai Brothers, but also an original stripe pattern. The huge stripe down the chest was something I added to all Akita or Akita-like characters of mine.. most, at least. And since I've never seen that stripe one any other dog.. Though yes, most of the head stripes and back stripes are Kai Ken markings on an Akita-wolf.

Since Mayoi is the perfect example of this stripe pattern, she shall be included here from my latest girt art.


So, in short.. GNG was a huge influence to a lot of my characters, excluding the ones created over two years ago.. >.<

In the time when Hito tried to draw a manga (and failed miserably) she used the Japanese style of right to left as well because she's used to reading mangas like that. ^^

Also, I would like it to be known that Hitoban wishes she could draw like that and envies your amazing skill Mayoi-chan.

Yes, our Mayoi is certainly a gifted one. My major influences have been Digimon and Sonic the Hedgehog, so... I really wish I could pick up GDW style. Not that GNG isn't fantastic, but I just like Weed better, personally. Idk what's wrong with me... lol

Well, if you're talking about the manga style, GNG and GDW style is basically the same.. besides the fact that Gin is blue in the latest editions of GNG and in the GDW mangas (I refer to him as Aoi more than Gin).

Gin's always been more of my favorite dog in both Gingas. (My favorite wolves would be Raiga and Noroi. ) After all, Gin's the kid that no one believes in GNG, and they doubt his abilities just because he's young. But heck, that pup could pack a punch!

I don't want to flare myself and start on GDW. XD I'll just say that it's kind of bad that some stuff that happened in the GNG manga and anime left out of GDW besides the battle with Akakabuto (which in the anime for GDW, had wrong things in it as well..).

(Plus the Wolf Arc was completely ignored in both animes.. >.<)

Besides that, I'll be adding more pages in for "Ookami wa Tatakau". About 5-9 pages. I didn't bother to count, obviously. xD

Oh... she can has manga... that would make the art style much easier to mimic... maybe I ought to find some. I do have some Kenshin... and like, all the Kingdom Hearts manga for the first game, CoM, and the first volume for KHII. I'd love to get my hands on some FMA... or maybe I'll just go through my anime collection and pause it at good spots to practice... hmm...
I haven't read the GNG/GDW manga, but Kyoshirou = win. If Akame-san wasn't in "Weed", then GNG would win big-time, but as it is, I like everything about GDW better. It's really quite simple: Akame + Tesshin + Kyoshirou = win. Jerome is pretty awesome too... and Hiro... hmm, I just like all the GDW characters better, even Weed, a little... GNG Gin > Weed, but still... I do miss Benizakura though... he was my favorite in GNG, for sure. I cried when he died...

I love my mangas. :3 I have GNG volumes 4-10 (Benizakura was introduced in 5). Third edition. I just recently got volume 4 and volume 8 (lost her first volume 8.). I'm thinking of buying some GDW mangas just to see how Moss recently died. Also, I can scan some parts of my mangas if anyone wants to see the wolves.

If you cried when you saw Benizakura's death, that'll make two of us. I cried when I saw his death in the manga too. Mosa must've been one heck of a fighter to make Benizakura suicide..

And Akame-san.. He just PWNS. I wish all the Iga dogs hadn't suicided or died. Chibi/Tesshin and Moss were adorable when they first played together too.

To me, Tesshin in the GDW anime is not anything compared to his manga counterpart. In the anime, Tesshin's more of a background character. His only important parts were teaching Weed the Battouga and fighting.. Kite? While, in the manga, Tesshin wasn't so quick to join Weed on his "journey". In reality, Weed was just irritating him for asking him to save the dog who "killed" his father. The Koga dogs' elder, Chourou tried to convince Tesshin to kill Weed, but he didn't since he began to trust him. THEN he joined Weed. And obviously, the reason he hates Weed is because he looks like Gin who Chourou blames for Kurojaki's suicide (when in reality, it was Akame who tempted him by burning down the Iga house).

Oh, one more thing about Chourou.. HE LOOKS LIKE KUROJAKI IN THE ANIME! *is a huge Kurojaki fanatic too xD*

And manga Kyoushiro.. Takahashi-san just makes him look silly whenever he's on the cover. And his scars move around most of the time too.

Aw, Khaza-san, I'm sure they'll come out alright. Ginga-style is actually really simple. The bodies are made of circles, basically.. But the paws, not so much.

And the Kai dogs... PWN! Akatora was my favorite in GNG.. Kurotora was my favorite in GDW, since Akatora was dead. Riki would've been my favorite in GDW if Akakabuto hadn't killed him..

Oh, and I finally updated the comic. I added about 9 pages. Read them if you want. :3

Meh... I thought Gin was too much like Riki in GDW, and I didn't much care for Riki in GNG, anyway... but yeah, Akatora ftw. Though I kinda prefer Kagetora over all of them... just maybe. I do like Musashi, too... he reminds me of Benizakura a little. So many great characters between the two series.

IDK, I guess the only wolf/dog anime I like is Wolf's Rain.

Inuyasha is a demon anime, so no, it doesn't count. And while WR rocks hard, you should really go to like, YouTube or something and watch GNG and GDW. I only watched GNG because I wanted to see the back story, but I enjoyed GDW quite a bit.
