Regarding the Rules of this Board

I'm absolutely tired of the plagiarism. Tired of it. I've never had this problem before, and I have no idea why I'm having it. Sure, it was a bit pleasing to know people wanted to use my rules because they were "written well", but now it's ridiculous.

My rules are for this forum, not yours or your friends. I spent countless hours writing them, not you. I've had 3 forums so far that have stolen my rules without even bothering to credit the one who actually wrote it. That's sad. First of all, I shouldn't even have to ask you to credit. I wrote them; Isn't it common courtesy to credit the person who kindly let you use information from something they wrote? Obviously not.

Get this now: Nice Mayoi's gone. My limits have been pushed. I'm not blind. I'm not ignorant. If you think that I'll stand by and let you take whatever the hell you want from this board, I have a few words: You gotta be kidding.

I tried so hard to make a forum in which you guys-people originally from WRH: a forum that was dead as of 2 years ago- could have a nice looking board and a semi-good roleplay. If you don't like it, why bother keeping this board up?

I'm not asking for you to perform brain surgery am I? NO, I'm asking for a few flimsy words like "Original credit for rules go to Mayoi" or at least a link back to this board to give me a bit of a break.

If you think this isn't important enough to be an announcement for this forum, good for you. This IS an important matter. This board's information was being stolen while I wasn't around. If so many people are trying to make forums more successful than this one but with the same rules, "there's no point for the original to be up," that's what I hear.

Feel free to comment here, PM me, etc. if you want. I won't ban you for your opinions. I'm not that horrible.

Um, I hope I'm not an offender... I can fix it if I am, no problem... I'm just new at this... actually, I don't even remember posting rules on mine, but I'll double check, just in case. I do have to say though, that the forums I've been on have nearly identical rules for rp and stuff, and with the exception of the alpha rules you have, this forum seems to follow the pattern. It would stand to reason then, that such universal rp rules might not be considered plagiarism. Though the other forums have their own wording, so I don't at all condone some of the "cut-and-paste" rules I've seen elsewhere.
Anyway, this is a rather interesting problem... I really hope you don't give up just because people are too lazy to type stuff, or maybe that's not what you're getting at? Anyway, there's my two cents... maybe three... hehe ^_^

Well, I don't think it was really the rules she was upset about, just the fact that she did all of that research herself and spent all of that time typing it up so we could prosper from an orderly board, and no one(including myself) had the common sense or courtesy to ask her if we could use them. No one credited her either, and that would piss me off too. I would just like to say (again) that I am deeply sorry for taking them, I HAVE revised them, and I DID give you credit for the ideas they sprang from. Here's a story for all of the plagiarizers who AREN'T sorry:

I used to go to a normal-type rp board. We could rp about anything at all, except not sex. It was a very good situation. As many people might already know, I get grounded a lot. And when I DO get grounded, it's for a very long time. I had this character named Cheetame(I was very young when I created her) that i used to roleplay. Her profile was extremely detailed, with pictures, signatures, and history. Well, one day i screwed up bad and I got grounded for a VERY long time. When I got back, my profile had MY name taken off of it, and instead, this girl named MISSY had posted the exact same profile. All of the original people who had been on that board were gone, and I was pretty sure Missy won the admin's password in a rp battle. Long story short, she stole my character and when I told everyone that SHE stole it from ME, they accused ME of plagiarizing and kicked me out. (In case some of you are wondering, THIS is where my history came from.)

So, here's MY two cents(well, mine's probably more like two dollars, but whatever.): Plagiarizing is bad people, very bad!

I've officially given permission for Hitoban-san to use my rules.

These rules of mine have existed for a year now, and have only been used on three of my forums, turning to four soon. Before that, I've never seen rules similar to mine. It's not the general and roleplay rules that I'm worried about (besides the fact that they're copied EXACTLY how they were written. How could I NOT tell they were mine?) it's the pack stuff. The ranks, healer and elder; they were made by me when I made a sequel to one of my forums. And why am I so offended by this, you ask?
One: The fact that some people wrote "a new rank made by US". Who's "us"? Don't they mean "Mayoi"?
Two: These rules contain my own memories. They're memories I wish to hold onto dearly. If you can't respect that, then that's despicable. I wrote those ranks after a death in the family occurred. I'm not exactly going to let this go for a while.

And people can't tell me that they wrote them earlier. These rules have existed ever since July 21^st, 2006. And no, Watera no Tamashii was not the first of my forums to have these rules passed down to it. There's basically a time line:

• 10:18 PM, July 21^st, 2006-.Wolf's Destiny was the first to get these rules. A day after I made it, July 21^th, I began to write these rules, piece after piece.
  
• 10:53 PM, April 30^th, 2007. Ôkami Densetsu, the sequel to Wolf's Destiny, had these rules rewritten to fit its plot.
  

Unless your board was made before then, you can't claim these rules are yours.

Wow... um, okay... I think I may have used "Alpha" and all the traditional wolf ranking type names on my attempt at a forum, but I don't think I have any solid rules yet... Anyway, I appreciate you taking the time to explain all this, and while I respect you protecting what's yours, you would have to PM me directly if I did something... I guess maybe I'm just dense that way, idk... ^_^;
