Chasing a Ghost

It smells like Kage was here... Mar thought as he and Dawn came into a clearing.
"This seems to be where the scent is strongest." He announced. "Is this the place?"

Dawn sniffed around, and found the slight imprint where she'd lain. Yes, this is the place. I don't exactly know what happened, but when I woke up, Kage was in tears and the flower was growing over there.

Something about the place felt sacred-like they shouldn't have been there at that moment. Still, she stood and wondered how they would find something that hadn't even left a smell she recognized.

Mar nodded. "Okay... um... huh." He stopped and pondered for a long while, then turned to Dawn.
"You didn't see this mystery wolf, did you? Or maybe smell him? Something?"

Dawn bushed as Mar said her thoughts out loud, and shook her head minutely. No, I can't say that I have. I don't know how we would find him... There isn't even a scent here that I don't recognize, beside the one next to where the flower was. I'm sure that's him, but it disappears shortly.

"Hmm..." Mar sniffed the spot for a while, then nodded. "Yeah, it doesn't go anywhere... almost... like Shimo." He danced around in a circle excitedly for a moment. "Yeah! It's just like Shimo when he flies!"
It's too bad I can't track birds... but at least we know he's out there somewhere...
"Well..." Mar sighed. "I don't know how to track flying creatures, so let's head back, eh?"

"Yeah." Neo grinned as he approached. "Yeah, Mane needs to see that flower." Plus, if she's right, we need to guard that thing.

Dawn's face lit up when Mar had his flying breakthrough. So whatever they were looking for had wings and flew. That could make it harder to find whoever it was. Wolves aren't very good at tracking things that fly...

Neo showed up, and said Maname needed to see the flower. More tests? She sighed and nodded, following the two back home.
