Maname was partially asleep when she heard Neo's voice. She stood and shook her sleep off, then padded out into the main room. She looked at Shimo, who was still on the floor, and sighed. She looked at Neo then, and her eyes hid how defeated she felt.
"I can't figure out what's wrong with Rin. I think it's something to do with her nervous system, but I can't run any kind of tests. I was wondering if you could."

Neo grunted. I'm no miracle, cure, people... "Um... y-yeah, I think I can do both..." he weighted each of his tasks in his mind. Would he have the strength to do both? If not, could Shimo be counted on? What would happen if he went beyond his limit? He began mumbling to himself uneasily. "Nervous system... flower... mmm... Tsuba... sa?... wing... bird... flight..." He continued to string together sets of almost random words until his mind was set on his task. "It may not be pretty, but my pack needs me, so dammit, I'll try." Did I say that out loud? He shot a sideways glance at Maname sheepishly, wondering how strange he sounded to her...
Without another word, he stepped closer to Rin. "I don't have Shimo's eyes," He warned, "but... I think I can..." He gripped his sword and etched a crude likeness of a wolf onto the stone wall. "This is gonna be permanent, but it could be useful in the future, as well, so there ya go." He then drew symbols to the north, south, east, and west of the wolf drawing. He repeated the symbols around Rin's body. almost immediately, red areas appeared on the wolf drawing, as if the wall itself was bleeding. Neo pointed out two major areas. "Looks like you're right, see there?" He pointed with his sword. "Here's an area near her shoulders, which in turn is affecting her breathing. I bet if we can repair the flow of energy, then her lungs should also return to normal. I'm not sure what's blocking her spine's energy, though, and I don't know fancy medical terms. I deal in converting and manipulating energies and materials, mostly." He returned his blade to its place upon his back, and turned to Shimo. "If he were awake... I mean, Shimo can actually see what I've just shown you without help from any magic. That, and he's got far more experience with medicine than I do, although... he shouldn't access his memories, if it can be avoided." Neo sighed, shrugged, and turned back to the wall. "What I could do, for now, is build a sort of detour for her brain. It would effectively redirect energy around that red spot, directly to her lungs. I can tell you right now, though, she is pretty vulnerable to all sorts of stuff, and if anything foreign gets in the new pathway, then it will definitely complicate things. Her lungs are receiving enough energy to keep going, but if the blood lights on fire, then she'll stop breathing, and we'll have to use the detour." He looked Maname in the eyes, and paused for a moment. He'd never actually looked at her eyes before... "Ahem..." he blushed and averted his gaze to the middle of her forehead. "The point of all this is to say that unless you know how we can repair her nerve chord thingy, then rerouting her flow of energy would be too dangerous, unless we had no other choice, so... I mean -- I'm not entirely sure what to do from here."

Maname listened to Neo as he spoke, and blushed when he cursed. She wasn't used to hearing much talking at all, let alone profanity. She watched as he worked, furrowing her brow at the magic that she wasn't familiar with. She listened when he explained the nervous system problems, and about redirecting the flow of energy. She didn't know much about energies, so she tried to convert what he was saying into medical terms. Repair the nerve... She did have something that she thought would help. She reached into her bag and pulled out a red herb. It was for internal things, and maybe if it was applied directly to the nervous system, it would be more effective.
"This is for internal problems. If it could be applied directly to the problem, it might be more effective than just having her ingest it."

Neo grinned, "That, I can do." He grabbed the herb and placed it over Rin's red area as marked on the wall. After a few moments, and some odd movements, the herb was gone. "There. Now we wait."

Maname smiled, and nodded assent. "Yes. Hopefully, it will do something." She suddenly began wondering why he'd come back here alone in the first place. She sat down next to the table, ready for a long night of watching, and smiled at Neo.
"So what was it you came here for, Neo?"

"Oh, right!" Neo grinned. "Um, there's this weird blue flower Dawn brought in, and I was wondering if you could take a look at it, or might know something about it." He quickly scratched a likeness on the ground. "It looks kinda like that, but all blue and glowy."

Maname looked at the flower, tilting her head trying to decipher it. She couldn't tell much by the drawing, and she figured it might have looked different in real life. She was an expert on plants, and she'd never seen anything like the drawing on the ground. It kind of looked like a very very rare flower she'd seen only once. If it was that flower, she would want to look at it in-depth.
"Well I can't really tell by this drawing-no offense to your art-but, I think I might know what it is. I would really have to look at it personally. If it is what I think, then she has been given a great gift. Do you know where she got it from?"

Neo's gaze shifted around uncomfortably. "Um... a mystery wolf, somewhere in the forest. Mar was planning to take Dawn and see if they could track him, and I left the flower with her, so, in the meantime, I need to know everything about this 'gift' of hers -- if it is indeed the flower in question." He looked around for a bit, wondering what to do. "Our other option is to go find them and look at the flower up close, so you can be sure -- which I'm pretty sure we'll have to do, eventually, anyway. I just wasn't sure if it's okay to leave Rin..."

Maname nodded, taking everything in. The mystery wolf matched up with the legend as well. Could it really be the Mitsukai Yuri, the Angel Lily? It was seeming more and more possible by the detail. He wanted to know more about it, so she started telling him the story.
"Well I've only ever seen one in my entire life, and it was a rare sight indeed. The legend goes something like this: Once every five years, an angel will come and give the Mitsukai Yuri-the Angel Lily-to one deserving being. It could be a wolf, human, or even something such as a fish. It always resembles a Lily, but it comes in different colors. Different colors mean different things. For example, a black Mitsukai Yuri would grant someone the ability to kill anything instantly, the red to have someone fall in love, and so on. The blue, it has been said, holds the power to save someone's life.
The flower is very picky, and can only be used on the one that it was meant for. If it isn't, then it won't work and it will wilt prematurely. The flower must be kept extremely safe, for if it loses its petals, it is rendered useless. The less petals it has, the less power it has. For example, if it loses one petal, the one who needs saving may be saved at the cost of its health-it would have difficulties trying to fight off disease-or something of that nature. You can never tell how the flower is going to work until it actually does.
Once the time has come for the Mitsukai Yuri to be used, the chosen one must return to the angel that presented them with the flower, and they will then be told what to do with it. If they do not do exactly as they are told, nothing will work, and it might even backfire on them. If they do what they're supposed to, however, they will be greatly rewarded.
As I said, I would have to look at it to make sure that it really is the Mitsukai Yuri, but I'm positive of one thing: if it is, it and Dawn are to be kept under lock and key until the angel calls her."

Kaze swivled his ears to catch the conversations going on between Neo and Maname but didn't open his eyes. As Maname finished her story about the Mitsukai Yuri, Kaze felt his sister shift and lifted his head to look at her only to find her awake and trying to get into a sitting position, Kaze quickly stood and helped his sister up into a sitting position. Rin looked over at Maname and spoke in a raspy and low voice, occasionally she had to stop for a few seconds to catch her breath like talking itself was wearing her out. "Maname, if you wish to....go find Dawn and Mar...you can go...I'll be alright till you get back." She paused and lowered herself onto her belly and her eyes grew unfocused again and she had a small coughing fit before continueing, "Dawn...and her pups...are....more important....than me......anyways." The last few words were muffled as her head slowly lowered back to her paws and she fell back asleep, her sides rose and fell at a slightly faster pace than normal but she seemed to be alright.
Kaze sighed, "It really is okay for you to leave Maname if you wish to go find Dawn, I'll get a hold of you if something major changes...but for the moment she seems okay...she didn't black out this time she just used up what energy she had stored up...she has a bad habit of doing that...." he shook his head, "anyway, you can go...I'll keep an eye on her for a while..."

Neo took it all in. A super-flower with strange energies... Well, an angel certainly fits Kage's description, and the flower is blue... this is it, I can feel it. He grinned at Kaze. "Don't be silly. Rin needs as much care as we can provide, right, Mane? Besides, Mar and Dawn went to look for this 'angel', so they've probably headed back to where they found the flower in the first place. If the legend-thingy doesn't come true right there, then I'll just bring them back with me, and you can have a gander at the flower. No need to take unnecessary risks, right?" He turned to Maname on his way out. "Besides, it looks like that plant of yours may be helping Rin, after all." He gave her a quick wink, "Make sure and check the wall every now-and-then, and don't you dare leave her side until you know she's in the clear, you got it?" With that, Neo exited the grotto... now if only Shimo would wake up...

Maname turned to Kaze as he entered, and grew worried when Rin forced herself to sit up and talk to her. She said that she didn't mind if Maname left, and Kaze said the same, but she couldn't do that. It was her duty to stay by her patients' sides until they're better. The flower could come to her when Dawn and Mar returned.
She was about to speak her thoughts, when Neo spoke them for her. She smiled and nodded at the siblings. "My thoughts exactly."

Kaze smiled at Maname and sat down with a half sigh, "I'm somewhat happy that she is waking up occasionally, the only thing that bugs me is the fact that once she wakes up she thinks she can take on the world...." he shook his head and chuckled softly, "I can only hope that it doesn't get worse, though I know my hopes are in vain cause no matter how much I wish, it always gets worse....as well as her attitude...it gets more....frustrated I guess you could put it...she always putting herself down like she did earlier and as usual more worried about others than her herself..." He chuckled again and didn't speak again.

Maname smiled softly and padded over to the left side of the table, facing the wall with the drawing on it. She laid down with her head on her paws, and sighed. "Well, I'll be here for a while, so if you want, you can go back to sleep Kaze." She would watch her all night if she needed to.

Kaze nodded and decided to try and get some sleep, he laid down and curled himself back into a ball and laid his tail over his nose and started to doze off. The only question he had, no one could awnser, and that question was if Rin would sleep peacefully through the night, he could only pray she did.
