The final verdict

Dawn entered the grotto through the side passage-to protect the flower-and padded to the Healers' wing. She was sure Mar and Shimo were following her, but she didn't want to stop and wait for them. She was getting tired, and she wanted to be able to sleep soon. Everything had happened in such a small amount of time, and she still had to talk to Hitoban about Tsuki when she returned. She wanted to get the testing or whatever it was over quickly so she could get some sleep.

Maname? Are you in here? Her voice was slightly muffled due to her holding the flower.

Maname's ears perked, and she snapped out of her trance-like state of no sleep. She checked the wall again-everything still looked good-and she padded out to meet Dawn at the door of the Healers' wing. She stopped, mouth gaping, when she saw what Dawn had in her mouth. It was the Mitsukai Yuri. It was blue. Maname's eyes were as big as saucers. She finally took hold of herself and shook the shock from her face. She smiled at Dawn.

"Dawn, why don't you come over here and sit down?"

Dawn was a bit confused by the shocked look on Maname's face, but she went and sat down next to the table anyway. She took note of a few changes-Rin on the table unconcious, a wolf drawing with glowing spots on the wall, random things scratched in the ground including her flower, and such. She placed the flower on the ground in front of Maname and smiled tiredly.

Could we make this quick? I'm getting pretty tired.

Maname scanned the flower, looking at every detail of it, and she was disappointed to find a petal missing. That wouldn't be good. Other than that, about the only thing wrong with it was its lack of water. She pulled out a small blue herb from her bag and poked the end of the stem into it. She looked at Dawn with a smile and said "For hydration." She couldn't believe that it was really the legendary Mitsukai Yuri lying before her. She smelled it, and it had a distinct scent of life. It was much different from any other smell she knew. Maybe now, nothing would be wrong with Dawn or her pups.

"Well Dawn, I'll try to make this as quick as I can for you, but there's a lot of details you need to know. First, you should know the name of the gift you've been given. This is called the Mitsukai Yuri-the Angel Lily. It is given once every five years by an angel to the most deserving creature. You, Dawn, are the most deserving creature. There are a few different colors it can come in-red, black, orange-all kinds. Blue, means life. You have been given the gift of life. Now, I can't tell you exactly what this will do, but I can tell you that it will save someone's life. You have to have this with you at all times and you must protect it and yourself until you know what you must do with it. When you are being summoned, the flower will glow brighter, and it will lead you to where the Angel waits. You must go there on your own. The Angel will tell you what you need to do with the flower, and you must follow his instructions exactly. I won't get into the details about what all could go wrong right now. Do you follow me?"

Dawn blinked a few times, and nodded. An Angel Lily? Gift of life? Did this mean that she and her pups would be okay after all? She hoped so.

"Now, there is one problem. You've lost a petal. Anything could go wrong with the loss of that petal. I have no idea what will go wrong, but something will. Don't panic though-it might not be anything horrible."

[Rynn]

Kaze heard a new voice enter the cave and lifted his head up from his paws to see Dawn standing there with a flower, he watched the other two talk but didn't really listen, he started to lay his head back down on his paws but then suddenly his head shot back up again and he turned to look at his sister his ears standing straight up, he laid there for a few more seconds before slowly standing up his eyes never leaving his sisters unconsious form as if he was waiting for something. 'Somethings wrong, I can feel it....' he thought to himself, but he wasn't entirely sure yet so he just kept a keen eye on his sister. If Maname came over to him she would have to speak before he even noticed she was there cause he was entirely focused on his sister.

Mar listened to Maname's information and nodded. "So it is that angel-flower... But, Maname, what if we found the missing petal? I'm sure Neo could put it back together again, right?"
Neo smirked, "I can certainly try."

Maname shook her head sadly. "No, I'm afraid once the petal is off, the damage is done. You cannot tamper with this magic-no one knows what will happen and I'd rather not take chances with such a gift." She nosed the Mitsukai Yuri closer to Dawn. "You must guard it as if it were your very life-it very well might be."

Dawn nodded at the serious tone from Maname. She looked over at Mar and Shimo, knowing there was no hope for the missing petal. Even if we could fix it, I'm pretty sure it's been eaten by a rabbit...

[Tsukikage]

Neo shrugged. "Oh, okay... it was worth a shot. So... how long do we have to wait, anyway?"

Maname shook her head and shrugged. "I couldn't say particularly. It's all up to the Angel, and the flower. All I know is that Dawn and the flower must never be separated, and they must be protected constantly."

Dawn yawned and picked the flower up again in her mouth. She then curled on the floor and rested the flower on her paws. Well while we talk about this, you don't mind if I rest, do you?

Maname shook her head, also sitting next to the table. She looked at the drawing on the wall, and suddenly she got the feeling that something had changed. She studied it for a minute, then looked at Rin. She looked around to find Kaze in the shadows, also watching Rin closely. Something was wrong.

[Rynn]

Kaze continued to keep an eye on his sister, when suddenly Rin's whole body tensed up and an almost inaudable whine of pain escaped her maw before her whole body went limp for a few seconds before the picture on the wall did a dramatic change, the picture turned red around the heart and Kaze's eyes went wide with shock, he cursed silently to himself and turned to look at Maname, "Her heart's stopping....." His eyes had a paniced look to them but he kept a calm composure on the outside.

Dawn suddenly became alert as Maname sprung into action. She extracted a purple flower and crushed it with her paw. She ran into the supply room and got a sort of bowl made out of leaves. She hurriedly filled it with water from the hole in the ground, and then mixed the crushed flower in it. The water turned a strange pink-purple and she quickly fished the plant out. She placed the bowl on the table and jumped hurriedly up. She used her paw to turn Rin's face up and slightly to the side, and took the bowl in her teeth. She slowly poured the liquid down her throat, being careful not to choke her. When she was done, she started doing a kind of canine CPR-headbutting the place where Rin's heart was. It helped the medicine to get there faster. When she had done three sets of five headbutts, she jumped off of the table and watched Rin anxiously from below.

[Tsukikage]

Neo had heard the strange thumping noises in the other chamber, and quickly appeared by Maname's side. Shimo had also reappeared, but from where, no one -- not even Mar -- could guess.
"What can I do to help?" Neo asked immediately.
"Yes." Shimo nodded, "I must applaud that technique -- not many wolves are skilled enough to use it -- but I know it must be tiring. If anything else needs doing, just tell us what to do."

Maname continued watching Rin, not bothering to look at Neo and Shimo. They asked if there was anything they could do, but she just shook her head. All they could do was wait and see if the flower worked to calm her heart. If it was taking too long, she could let one of them pump her heart like she'd done before. But for now, nothing more could be done.

[Rynn]

For a few minutes it didn't seem like the medicine was working but after a couple of minutes her heart gradually went back to a normal rhythm. Her eyes opened slightly but you could tell that she wasn't really there her eyes were glazed over and held no sign of responsiveness, but she was alive and out of the clear.....for the moment...

Maname relaxed slightly when she knew that Rin was okay again, but she was still on her guard over her. She was concerned-no doubt about that. She wasn't going to let anything happen to her.

[Tsukikage]

"So..." Shimo said, peering at Rin. "This is one of those 'only time will tell moments', isn't it? Seems like that's happening to us a lot, lately. Dawn, Rin, Tsuki, Kage... and I haven't even seen Lady Hitoban around, either. I hope she's okay."
Neo nodded. There wasn't a whole lot any of them could do right now, but the mention of Hitoban's absence was concerning... "Well, Mane," he sighed, "You try and rest. Shimo and I can watch over her, for now."

[Rynn]

Kaze looked over at Shimo and Neo, "Now that you mention it Fallen's gone missing too....though I think she might have gone hunting." He then went silent and kept his eyes on his sister.

[Tsukikage]

"Well, if you'd like, you can go find her." Neo offered. "There's not a whole lot any of us can do for Rin right now, and it may actually help her to have as much family here as -- or, well... close family, anyway."
