As the brothers retreated, Kage's condition got worse. By the time they reached the waterfall and the Alpha's den, Tsuki's brother was covered with scaring and his leg, which would've never truly healed if it were real, was dragging across the ground...
"Kage," Tsuki began as soon as he'd set his brother down. "Wahya's our friend. You can't let this happen to you every time."
"I know..." Kage replied in a melancholy tone. "I just... it's not easy for me to forgive something like what he --"
"What Giga."
"What Giga... did. Giga tried to kill us over and over, and well... Wahya only reminds me of hm..."
"Then he's already won. If he can break your spirit like this, then Giga might as well have killed you."
Kage's eye popped open. "You... you're right. I..."
"You've got to be stronger than this." Tsuki continued, "You've got a little girl down there waiting for her name, and the only thing standing in your way is this fear of some monster that's haunting our good friend. Now are you gonna get back in there, or what?"
Kage nodded, and his wounds slowly vanished again, one by one...
"That's it!" Tsuki cheered. "You don't have to trust Wahya -- I'm not asking that. I'm not even asking. As your alpha, I am issuing you an order. You are to treat Wahya with the decency you would treat anybody else with. Leave Giga in the past. We've beaten him once, and we can do it again. Now go down there and be with your family, understood?"
Kage almost laughed, but the commanding presence Tsuki had suddenly affected was rather awe inspiring. No one had ever seen Tsuki in his role as alpha before... he nodded to his superior, then gave a lopsided grin to his little brother.
"Understood, sir." He chuckled. "I guess I'd better get going, then."
Tsuki smiled as he watched his brother leave the cavern...
