Awooo!! I think I could get used to this whole wolf thing...
Beeee the wolf....beeeee the wolf....I can do this. Rosangela stopped to look around. Her dog eyes saw well in the darkness of the cave, but it was still a little scary. No, I can't think that....wolves aren't afraid of anything. She shook herself off and continued through the cave. She had been following the scent of wolves ever since she'd landed on this island. So far, none of them had been particularly welcoming, so she'd continued on and found herself trailing a different group. They appeared to live just beyond this cave, and so she traveled through it. It was darker than the last one she'd been in, and even though she was a wolf now, she was still a little scared.
You know, I have some mutt in me. Maybe that counts for wildness? Her mother had been a mutt, but not her father. Her father was pure, one hundred percent English Setter. Her mother was mostly too, but she had just a little bit of something foreign in her. Still, you wouldn't know it from Rosangela's appearance. She looked totally English Setter, but she didn't want to. She'd gotten lost one day while on a hunting trip with the farmer and his friends, and she wandered alone, trying to find home. But, she found this place instead. So, since she was stuck there, she decided to make the best of it. She would be a wolf now. She would be just like a regular wolf, but a little...different looking. The first step to being a wolf was finding other wolves to be like though, and so far she'd had no luck with that.
Just as she was losing hope of ever getting out of the caverns, it opened up in front of her and she found herself in a forest. Now this was more wolf-like. All the stories she'd heard of her ancestors and whatnot, they'd all been in forests. So she set off in the direction of the wolf smell again, hoping that this time she'd actually find some. She continued wandering, searching for the wolf smell.
If I could only find one!

In the near distance in this vast forest, indeed there was another wolf. The wolf was mainly black in color, but there was some Grey to him. It's eyes were almost completely white, but they were visible. There were white marks starting from his eyes and going down to the bottom of his jaw.
The wolf's name was Koal, a lone wolf who often traveled the lands in search of others to see. Koal was like just a bit...different. Koal's eyes and those marks of his hinted that he was different than others, especially since he was very quiet most of the time. The only time he spoke was on the rare occasion that he spoke to others.
Koal's ears perked up and he raised his head toward the sky. His nose had picked up the scent of a...dog? He set off after it and, before long, his eyes had spotted it in the distance. By its smell, he could tell it was female. A friend, or foe? He was quickly getting a little curious as to who this other wolf was.

Hmm? A wolf! Finally!
So this is what a wolf looks like... As Rosangela looked at the wolf that had suddenly appeared, she couldn't help but feel a twinge of fear. It was clear that he was different from her-wild and possibly crazy. She didn't know how wolves acted. Would he be mean and bite her? Would she have to prove herself stronger than him to avoid getting eaten? She took in his appearance with woe. He was...filthy! He was black-kind of grayish, not the ink black of her own coat-and he had strange scar-like markings on his face. His eyes were frightening-much too light to see properly. Is he blind? She didn't know, but she figured he had to be because he was staring right at her. Oh my goodness, maybe this is his territory and he'll get all mad at me and kill me! Or worse-maybe he'll take me as some kind of..harem...toy thing! The fear was plain in her eyes by then, and it was clear that she wasn't budging an inch toward him. She called out to him, hoping to make a truce early on, but when she heard her voice trembling she wished she had just kept her trap shut.
"Hullo there! I'm Rosangela. I hope I'm not intruding on you Mister...what is your name-that is," she added hastily, "if you don't mind my asking." She chuckled nervously and wagged her low-lying tail forcefully.
Oh god...please don't eat me...!

Koal continued to stare at the other wolf, or so Koal thought it was one. Curiosity began to fill Koal's mind as he noticed hints of fear in her. Koal could tell by looking into her eyes. They showed a lot of fear. Although Koal was noticing her getting nervous, Koal found this a bit strange. Why would she find me intimidating? Koal said within his mind, he didn't understand why he would seem scary.
"Do not fear me..." Koal said as he slowly sat down, trying to show he meant no harm. "I am not going to hurt you, so please, relax..." Koal said, his tune of voice was calm and showed no signs of emotions, except a small hint of curiosity toward Rosangela. "My name is Koal." Koal said, tilting his head to show Rosangela that he was a little bit curious.

Maybe he's not as bad as he looks...
Rosangela watched the wolf sit down, and heard his words. Apparently she was acting strangely, because she heard in his voice that he was a little confused about her. Perhaps he'd never seen a dog before, just like she'd never seen a wolf before. She mimicked his movements and sat down, her ears flickering back and forth. He spoke that there was no reason to fear him, and true there didn't seem to be. It was just the shock of seeing him at first, she was sure of it. Yes, now that she'd stared at him for a while, she could definitely see that he was not going to eat her. She smiled a little, even though he didn't smile at her. She heard that his name was Koal, and she nodded. Still she didn't move toward him, however.
"Nice to meet you Koal. What kind of wolf are you?" She was curious to see what kinds of wolves there were, and she hoped that the more she met, the more she'd know. True he was black as coal, and so his name fit. Suddenly a light bulb went off in her head. "You can call me Rose, by the way." She smiled and wagged her tail.
Is his bark worse than his bite?

"Thank you, your name was a bit hard to pronounce, Rose." Koal said before tilting his head the other way and standing back up on all fours. Koal padded over to Rose and began to circle her, but he did it slowly as to not scare her. Koal was checking out Rose's appearance, such as her fur and tail. Koal has never seen Rose's kind before, therefore figured she was a type of strange wolf.
"As for what kind of wolf, I am a arctic wolf, a wolf that often lives in cold places such as the icy mountains or places that have snow that never melts." Koal explained as he finished circling her and checking out her features. Koal sat back down in front of Rose as he was now finished checking out her appearance. However, Koal's curiosity was still around. "Tell me, what kind of wolf are you, but if you are not a wolf, what species are you?" Koal asked in that same calm voice of his.

I'm an English Setter...
Rosangela watched Koal tilt his head the other way, and listened to his words. "Yes, I've been told that." She watched him stand, and she stood also. He walked toward her, and she lowered her tail just a bit. Even though she knew him a little more now, he was still scary. Wolves were wild and unpredictable, and he could still attack her. It could all be an act. He circled her slowly, like they circle their prey, and she ducked her head. She didn't like being circled-it made her feel trapped and scrutinized. Thankfully he ended it, and she tried not to look so pathetic. He said he was an Arctic wolf-a wolf that dwells where it is cold. If they live in snow, would not their fur be white? She didn't know, and didn't bother to say it. It could just be like her kind-they were bred for different colors.
He looked at her, the curiosity still plain in his face. He had obviously never even heard of a dog, because when he spoke he asked what kind of wolf she was, or what other species. She spoke with a small smile, explaining her kind.
"I am a dog-a domestic creature. My ancestors were wolves, but many centuries of selective breeding by the humans made us look very much different. There are many different types of dogs-many more than there are types of wolves I should think-and I am called an English Setter." Now that they'd enlightened each other, maybe she could be more comfortable with him.
And I guess you're an Arctic wolf...?

"Hmm, that would explain the very small hint of wolf smell I was getting from you." Koal said with a hint of understanding in his tune of voice. It made sense now. "Even through the many years of selective breeding, your wolf's instincts should still be around. All you need to do is find it." Koal said; what he meant by finding it was to re-learn the ways of how wolves live, eat, fight, and everything else.
"I've never heard of an English Setter before, but I am willing to learn a little bit about it. As for the humans you've mentioned, I assume it is some kind of species who seem to be more advanced than us?" Koal asked with a small hint of curiosity. No matter how Koal spoke, responded, or acted, you could still see that personality of his. "Based on how you arrived here, you seem to have been slightly guided by wolf's instinct." Koal said, looking at Rose with a small grin, although the grin didn't last long as a thought crossed his mind. Koal realized there was no one else there other than Rose and himself.

He doesn't know what humans are?
Rosangela couldn't believe her ears. He didn't know what humans are? She'd been around humans all her life, and they were just naturally there. But she guessed that there were no humans in the wild. Then who will brush out my coat? She kicked herself inwardly. What a sissy thought... Still, this whole wolf thing would take some getting used to on her part. Koal said that her wolf was still in there somewhere and she just had to find it. Well that may be true, but she would be the wimpiest wolf of all time.
"Humans are the fleshy people who walk on two legs. They wear clothes that they make because they don't have any fur. The only fur they have is on their heads, but some of the males are a bit furrier. They have no claws, and their teeth are dull, but they have weapons they've made-metal sticks that shoot fire and dirt (they call them guns) and shiny pointed detached claws they call knives. I know they sound scary, but they aren't all like that. My humans lived on a farm, with many other animals-cows and horses and sheep-and my mother and I were the only in our family allowed inside. They called us hunting dogs-I don't know why because we never killed anything-and we were treated better than the others. The male would take Mother and I into the woods with his guns and his other human companions, and we would run and bark at birds and deer and rabbit, and have a wonderful time. They would kill the things we ran at, but it was our job and we got part of the meat from them."
Remembering the good times she'd had with her family, Rosangela began to feel sad. She realized that she would never see any of them again. Her tone of voice dropped drastically and her eyes fell. "One day I was chasing a rabbit, seeing if I could catch it myself, and my human got cross with me. He yelled and chased me, all the while pointing his gun, and I got scared. I ran away, leaving the rabbit, and soon heard a shot-that's what it's called when the gun kills something. I knew the rabbit had been killed, but when I went back to look for them, I couldn't find anyone. Mother and everyone was gone. I'd wandered too far and gotten lost. I wandered for a long time, trying to find them, when I came upon this island. And...here you see me today."
I guess wolves really ARE wild...

Koal stared at Rose, blinking a few times as Rose explained everything. There were so many things mentioned that Koal had never heard of, except the animals Rose mentioned; Koal definitely knew about those kind of animals since he had seen them before in his life, but they were wild instead of tamed, like Rose mentioned.
"Interesting..." Koal said, thinking a bit about what Rose said. Those human creatures were definitely more advanced than what Koal had seen, however, there was one thing he knew those humans didn't have-power such as to control the elements of nature, although Koal didn't know if it was possible for species other than wolves to have it. "Well..." Koal began to say before thinking for a moment "We both seem to be in same situation. I am kinda new to this territory" Koal said before twitching his right ear because of an annoying bug that had just landed on it.

Wait a minute...
Rose watched Koal as he sat, listening to her. It felt good to know something for once, instead of her asking all the questions. When he said that he was new to the territory also, she got a little nervous. She had assumed him the Alpha of the territory, but if he was new and she was new...and there were no other wolves around...that meant that they were trespassing on a pack's territory. Who knew what kind of Alpha ruled this pack? Neither of them knew him, so he could very well be frightful and mean. Rose glanced around nervously before speaking her fears aloud.
"You mean...you're not the Alpha of this territory?"
I think we're in trouble...

"No, I am not the Alpha wolf. If I was, I wouldn't be acting like this toward you." Koal said, looking around a bit before speaking again. "Don't worry, I don't smell scent other than our own around here and I've caution approached this area before entering." Koal said, as calm as always. Fear was an emotion he did not show much, unless it was the serious type of fear such as life threatening danger that Koal could not stand up against, such as the wolves being stronger than him. But he is young and strong after-all, Koal can put up a good fight.
"Although, if the alpha Wolf does come near, I'll explain everything. But if it seems us being here is a bit of a problem, then we can always leave." Koal suggested, although Koal didn't know the Alpha Wolf, therefore Koal was kinda overestimating his own actions.

Oh thank goodness...
So he wasn't the Alpha, but he figured the Alpha wasn't around. That was good at least. Maybe nothing bad would happen. Maybe they would just hang out and Rose would learn to be a wolf. Who knew-maybe when the Alpha DID show up, they could join his pack. But what if he didn't want a dog joining his pack? That would be very sad, but she would find somewhere else to go. Maybe she'd just be a lone wolf or something. Oh well.
"So what do wolves normally do in this kind of situation?"
Let's just hope the Alpha doesn't show.

"Well, it doesn't seem to hurt for us to be here." Koal said before looking around, Koal's eyes scanning his surroundings. Koal didn't see any hint of wolf activity such as the ground having pieces of a wolf's fur or possibility that a wolf or wolves might of laid somewhere around here. "When the Alpha does appear, I'll be caution. I do not wish to upset an alpha wolf since they are leaders of a pack." Koal said. Koal gave high-respects for alphas as they tend to be stronger or more wise than other wolves.
Koal's ears moved straight up as he heard the sound of rustling nearby. "Since you are in the wild. The only type of food to have are other animals such as rabbits, bunnies, and many other types of meat. I don't mean all of them, I meant only a selective of what wolves choose to hunt down and eat." Koal said before looking around again. He began sniffing toward the air as he picked up the scent of another animal. It wasn't wolf scent, the scent smelt familiar, the scent got stronger for that animal came into the clearing, it turns out the scent was coming from a fully grown female deer.
"A deer, what good timing." Koal whispered, crouching low onto the ground so that the deer would not see him. "Get down.." Koal whispered to Rose, being as quiet as possible as to not scare off the deer.

Hazelmoon inched closer to the deer that she was stalking. It was a nice, plump doe, which would be a nice meal for her pack. The deer still was unaware of her stalker. Hazelmoon's black paws carried her through the brambles swiftly, gaining on the traveling deer. The deer was about to be toast.
Hazelmoon perked up her ears as the brambles rustled. At first, she assumed it was her tail fanning out, but she then realized that the doe had entered a vast clearing. Hazelmoon cursed under her breath. It was much harder to hunt out in the open. Hazelmoon would have to move more cautiously to evade detection.
Hazelmoon paused to scent the air. Instantly, she picked out two scents: One she reckognized, and one she didn't. But, she had no time to worry about that now. With one quick rustle of bramble, Hazelmoon entered the clearing.
Hazelmoon morphed into her hunter's crouch. Her green eyes widened as she noticed two black wolf paws like her own on the other side of the deer, and next to them, another set of paws and legs belonging to a wolf-like creature Hazelmoon had never encountered before. Hazelmoon was curious to know more about this, but she had one more duty: to kill this doe. With a strong push off of her hind legs, Hazelmoon landed on the deer's back, and gasped, unprepared for the sight below her paws.
