Hunting eh? I've done that before...

Rosangela watched as the doe entered the clearing, and she instinctively started moving closer to. She looked around for her hunter, and quickly snapped back to reality. There was no hunter. There was no need to maneuver the deer closer to the hunter so he could kill it. No, this was wolf country-there was only killing with claws and teeth. She didn't know how to kill things herself. The blood had always come from somewhere in the neck or in the chest. She backed up and watched Koal do his wolf thing. But she was surprised when she saw another wolf come into the clearing. She was very small-smaller than Rose herself-and completely black. Her huntress eyes gleamed emerald with concentration, and Rose found a certain fear come over her. She edged closer to Koal, perhaps interrupting him in his hunting of the deer, and barked out loud when the wolfess jumped up on the deer. Unfortunately, this scared her and so she reared and bolted. Watching the doe try to run away, the hunter inside came out and Rose lunged at it. She grabbed hold of one leg, breaking it and bringing her down. She tore into the neck savagely, not knowing where to bite to kill her quickest, and stood back as the last dying squeal of the doe rang into the air.

"Oh my god..." She couldn't believe she'd just killed a deer. All by herself! She backed up, trying not to look into the dead eyes of the doe, and instead focused on what happened to the wolfess who was on the doe's back.

Koal went into a moment of silence at Rose's sudden quick actions, before Koal got up from his crouching position, but he began laughing softly while slowly approaching Rose, the deer, and the other wolfess who was nearby. "It seems your wolf's instincts kicked in, although a bit different than what I was expecting." Koal said before his almost white eyes looked at the wolfess.

Koal's eyes scanned over the doe, since this doe was smaller than males, the amount of meat within it's body may not be enough for all three. But since Rose killed it first, it belonged to her and she can do with it as she wished; either to have her all by herself or try to share it even though it's small.

Hazelmoon scrambled over the deer. "Koal," she breathed, "What are you doing with this... thing?" She glared at the wolf-like creature. She had had that doe, if only this thing hadn't interfeared!

She then realized that the creature seemed frightened of her, and Hazelmoon's green gaze turned from hostility to friendliness. "It's okay," she soothed, "Great hunt, by the way. And, who are you- what are you?" Hazelmoon knew that this may offend her, but she just had to know, it was her nature.

Thing? I am not a thing!

Rose didn't like them laughing at her. She was a dog, but she'd acted like a wolf. It was probably a funny sight, but it still wasn't too fun to be laughed at. The wolfess was quine mean, and Rose's ears flattened, but she softened quickly and Rose became her old self again. The wolfess wanted to know who and what she was, so Rose told her.

"I'm Rosangela. I'm what is called a dog-an English Setter."

I'm a dog.

When Koal laughed, it wasn't a laugh of humor, it was more of a friendly laugh, Koal was about to speak again, but the other wolfess said his name. Koal's ears tilted to the head as Koal blinked a few times at the wolfess. "How do you know my name?" Koal asked, a little bit surprised and curious. "Unless.." Koal said as he began thinking for a moment. "You were a friend of my father, Vang." Koal said, it was the only explanation on how this female wolf knew of his name. "As for Rose here, she is a newcomer here, alot like me." Koal said.

This area was the first area Koal entered and already he was meting more wolfs, perhaps this land is populated more than what Koal thought it was. "By the way, rose. Since you made the kill, I think the deer is yours to have." Koal said before looking at the wolfess. "Unless theres any objections?" Koal asked since he knew that the wolfess made the first attack before Rose.

Hazelmoon glanced once more at the thing- or dog, as she called herself. She sighed and replied, "Well, she did kill it, and I can always find another one." Hazelmoon backed away from the deer, and instead looked at the wolf. "Varg?" she echoed, "Hmm... I don't remember ever meeting him... but then, I've met so many wolves in my years here, I don't remember them all. Does your father live on Reikoku-Soul Island, or somewhere else?"

My kill?

Rose looked from the conversing wolves to the deer she'd killed. If she understood correctly, since she'd killed it, it was hers. But what was she supposed to do with a big whole deer? She couldn't eat it all herself, after all! She sat down and looked at the wolves.

"Well I can't eat it all myself, so why don't you guys have what you want and I'll just have the rest?"

But I can't eat it all myself!

Hazelmoon's stomach growled. She was pretty hungry, and a fresh, meaty deer would definately help. But, Rose had killed it. Reluctantly, Hazelmoon backed away from the deer. "How about you have what you want, and we'll finish the deer for you" Hazelmoon flicked her black tail in assent, and sat down to watch the dog begin to feast on the deer.

But...

This was all very new to Rosangela, and the fact that she wasn't a wolf and therefore didn't have wolf instincts didn't help anything. She wan hungry, but she didn't know what the best part was, or where the most meat was, or whatever. All she knew was an occasional sausage or steak, but she didn't know what parts they came from. She wrinkled her lovely face when the wolfess stepped back, letting Rose have it first. She had hoped to learn from her which parts to go for first. Reluctantly, she poked and sniffed at the doe, trying to figure out which part to eat. Finally, she took a nice big bite out of her middle, rank fluids squirting right into her eyes. Rose yelped softly and shook her face, rubbing it on the ground. "Yuck!" Whoops, had she said that? She looked at the wolves, feeling embarrassed not only for her mistaking stomach for something good, and for saying that any part of a deer was "yuck." She'd seen whole carcasses stripped down to the bone when wandering in the woods at home, and so this all must have been eaten as well as the meat. She tried again, poking around, following a liver smell. She grabbed hold of what was definitely liver and yanked it out. She had always liked liver, so she ate it greedily. When done with that, she took her teeth and peeled the fur and skin off of the flank, eating the juicy meat there. Satisfied, she sat back and licked her chops. She hadn't ever felt so full. She felt kind of fat, as a matter of fact.

Koal watched as she ate, but raised his ears up toward the sky as Rose yelled 'Yuck!'

Koal saw that Rose was new to all this, therefore will take some time to get used to her new life here. "Rose, there may be some things you'll learn that you may not like, but after a while, you'll get used to it." Koal said as he looked down to check what was left before turning his head toward the wolfess. "Since you seem to be more hungry than me, you should eat whatever parts of the deer you'd like." Koal suggested. Koal was only feeling slightly hungry at the moment.

Koal soon turned his head toward the sky to check on the time. "Rose, once it gets dark, you'll have to learn where to sleep.." Koal said before looking at rose. "Although, be caution as to where you sleep. Some Alphas will act either aggressive that your in there territory or they'll act welcoming.." Koal said, Koal was hoping he was correct.

Hazelmoon nodded at Koal. She saw that Rose had chosen the liver, Hazelmoon's favorite part, but she hadn't eaten the kidneys yet. Those were Hazelmoon's second favorite. Hazelmoon stepped forward, and took out a kidney., She chomped on it, then ate the other one. For the final touch, Hazelmoon ate some of the deer's meat.

After she had finished, Hazelmoon was in a much better mood. "Yes, this is the land of the New Moon Pack.", she told Koal, "I normally hang out around here..."

So there is a pack here...

A pack? Oh no... Rose couldn't help but worry what the pack would do if they found them here. After all, Koal had just said that some are aggressive. "Is there an Alpha to this pack?" Of course there is, idiot. You can't have a pack without an Alpha...can you? Rose pondered over it, wondering if you could have a pack without an Alpha. It would be a sight wouldn't it-like a self-governing society. But surely there'd have to be a leader? Who knows...She thought she'd never get the hang of this wolf stuff.

"So Koal I guess that leaves the rest for you."

I wonder if they're dangerous...

Koal slowly lowered his head toward the last remains of the deer and opened his muzzle to take a bite, but as Koal opened his muzzle as he got closer to the deer remains.

Koal began eating by ripping off the skin off the ribs then raised his head to chew it down, Koal lowered his head again, but this time taking a bite of the fat part of the deer's leg. After eating as much as he could, he sat down and began licking his muzzle using his tongue, although he had to lick his paws and rub them against his muzzle to get the blood off before they dried up.

Koal soon looked at the wolfess. "By the way, I don't think we've been introduced. I am Koal." Koal said before looking around a bit. "As for the new moon pack, I hope the Alpha or Alphess won't act so suddenly like the last one I met." Koal said. The Alphess he mentioned was Hitoban, a Alpha leader of another territory he crossed over, but did not mean to. The Alphess known as Hitoban acted sudden to his arrival slightly aggressive at first.

Hazelmoon was shoked, and a little taken aback, by Rose's inquiry. "Why, of course they have an Alpha!" she said, maybe a little too loudly. How could there be a pack without an Alpha? Hazelmoon wondered... Was it even possible?

She sat down, and was calm again. She nodded her head as the wolf introduced himself. She decided she shold do the same. "I am Hazelmoon." she barked, "What Alpha or Alphess are you speaking of?" she wondered. Hazelmoon wanted to learn some facts to help her better survive on the island.
