Hunting

Rin silently walked through the forest with both Kaze and Fallen beside her, it had been a while since Rin had been out of the grotto and Rin was going crazy, running ahead of her siblings and basically acting like a pup. Rin then sat down in the middle of the path and lifted her head towards the sky and let the breeze blow through her fur. Her siblings smiled and sat down letting their sister enjoy being outside after being stuck inside for so long. They had already caught a couple of rabbits, so Rins' stomach was full, but she was itching to take down something bigger which is what was worrying her siblings for they weren't entirely sure if Rins' strength would hold out long enough to take down somthing as big as a deer or elk. But they couldn't change Rin's mind and soon they were off again following the scent of a deer herd.

Rin and the wolf siblings wasn't the only out for hunting, there was another wolf in the forest, the wolf was black, but he had a little bit of grey in it's fur. The wolf's eyes were white, but not completely white, they were still visible and can be seen by others who looked at his eyes. The wolf had white marks down his side of his muzzle, starting from eye to the bottom of his jaw.

The wolfs name was Koal, a strong but younge wolf. Koal was out hunting, although he hasn't had some luck due to the lack of rabbits in the forest, therefore Koal had decided to hunt down a deer instead. Koal slowed down in his steps, his snout picking up the scent of three other wolves in the air, Koal's ears perked up, caution listening to determined where they were, but before long, Koal had seen them in the distance, but they were close enough to see Koal.

Koal was about to slowly approach them, but another animal had came into view. A male deer, a bit younge, but it seemed strong, Koal crouched low onto the ground to avoid getting seen by the male deer, Koal was thinking on how he could attack the male deer since they were others nearby.

Hitoban crouched low, on the prowl of a young buck she'd spotted when hunting with Desperado. Where the wolfess was, she didn't know anymore, but Hitoban was sure she was around somewhere. Anyway, this buck was young and inexperienced, and Hitoban had been hunting for much longer than he'd been alive. She made sure to stay downwind of him so he couldn't smell her, but when she moved she discovered another scent. It was a wolf she'd never smelled before. Caution seized her and she turned to stalking the intruder instead. If she got the buck also, it would be a plus, but protecting her pack and territory was more important. She could always find the buck again.

As she circled, peering through the legs of the buck, she saw a soft rustling in the bushes on the other side. She sat still for a moment and saw two black paws. She continued as she had been, getting closer and closer to downwind of the buck, and made sure to stay on the secluded side of the brush. She soon spotted a black tail to match the black paws. She knew he wasn't one of her own, though now she could smell Rin and her siblings as well, and her worry grew. What if this intruder was here for more than just a meal? Rin, who had been sick recently, and her siblings might not know about this wolf, and they would be easy targets.

Oh to Hell with it! Hitoban stood and growled at the intruder, frightening off the buck. She did not pursue him. She moved toward the wolf, ears pointed and tail high. She curled her lip back and snarled at him.

"Who are you wolf? What is your name and where do you come from?"

Slowly, Koal's head slowly rose from within the bush, he walked out slowly, revealing his full appearance. Koal's almost white eyes looked upon the other wolfess, Koal had a caution look in his eyes. "I am Koal, I am not from this island, instead I've came from another land you could say." Koal said, his emotionless voice had no hint of fear or worryness. "Am I crossing another territory?" Koal asked calming. Koal did not know those lands very well, nor did he knew about whoever guarded those lands.

Koal continued to stare down at the female wolf, Koal wasn't imitated by her snarled and growling, therefore Koal could not be scared, nor threatened. Although after a moment of this female wolfs actions, Koal was beginning to think a fight may begin, Koal slightly lowered himself to the ground, trying to show he means no harm to her and others. Although even though he lowered himself, he was a bit caution incase Koal had to defend himself.

Rin and the others heard the growl, as well as the young buck run offand turned to see Hitoban and another wolf staring each other down. Rin and her siblings slowly approached the others. Rin looked over at Hitoban and smiled, "Hello Lady Hitoban, it's been a while since I last talked to you, who our guest?" she asked as she sat down, her eyes momentarily flashed with a sudden tiredness but as quickly as it had showed it vanished. Kaze and Fallen nodded in respect to Hitoban but stayed silent.

Hitoban watched the wolf who was apparently not accustomed to the rituals of hierarchy. He showed no fear, didn't duck his tail, but stared back at her. Of course, if it were a member of her pack, it would be a different story, but since this was an intruder, she couldn't help but bristle at the insult. She stood tall, looking down on him instead of vice versa, and made sure her posture was dominant and threatening. She listened to his explanation, his name Koal and how he was a stranger to the island. She saw Rin from the corner of her eye, and heard her subtle introduction. Hitoban thought subtlety wouldn't be enough for this one.

"I am Hitoban no Fokkusu, alphess of these lands and the pack Kuran no Hikari. You are an intruder here, whether you know it or not. Now, what pray tell are you doing here?"

"Please forgive me, Hitoban no Fokkusu." Koal said, giving the Alphess respect by saying her full name. "I was only merely hunting and was having trouble of hunting down something to eat. It seems I could not find any rabbits to hunt down, therefore I had decided to look for a deer instead. I sniffed the air and managed to pick up the scent of a deer to this location." Koal said.

It seems this Alphess known as Hito might attack him for intruding upon the forest, A little bit of fear was beginning to flow into Koal, seeing as he might have to defend himself after all and it would be his first fight, Koal would be able to show what his father, Vang has taught him.

Even though it may seem a fight may begin, Koal did not wish to fight a Alphess, even though Koal was a bit of a fighter and seemed taller than the Alphess, it would be dishonoring to fight a Alphess,. "I am new to the area after all, I did not know you were the Alphess..." Koal said, lowering himself even closer to the ground, trying to show that Koal still didn't mean harm and was trying to show that she was more superior than himself.

Desperado had lost sight of Hitoban as they ran through the woods. As she tried to find the alphess, something red and small caught her eyes. Desperado's nose recognized that smell. As she walked towards the red thing, she noticed what they were. Strawberries! Desperado bit off a small branch of them and carried it with her in her mouth.

Finally, Desperado found Hitoban talking to another wold taht was almost the same color as her, but she was a darker black, almost ebony. Desperado danced right up next to Hitoban, dropped her branch of strawberries, and sat down. Her puppy hyperness was still there. She didn't want to say anything, though, so Desperado bit her tongue to prevent any words from coming. She waited for what would happen next.

Rin and the siblings sat in tense silence as they waited for Hitoban to reply to Koal. Rin then blinked and looked over at yet another wolf, almost ebony in color, that she didn't know, but apparently knew Hitoban for she trotted right up next to her with a branch of something that looked vaguely familiar to her in her mouth, upon closer inspection she noticed that it was strawberries she hid a smile and turned her attention back to the two wolves, she was starving still and really wanted to just go off and hunt a big buck down. But didn't want to leave for fear of a fight breaking out, and despite the fact that she was no where near being back to her full strength she was still determined to jump into a fight if necessary.

Hitoban kept a wary eye on Rin and her siblings. If anything were to happen, she didn't want Rin getting into it. She was, after all, still pretty sick. Even though they weren't really a part of her pack, Hitoban treated them like they were. She stared down the wolf, and didn't look at Desperado as she came up and sat beside her. She only said "Desperado." in acknowledgment, never taking her eyes from the wolf called Koal. Finally she decided to let him off the hook. He was ignorant of the territorial bounds, though he should have smelled her all over, and he seemed apologetic. She relaxed a little, a visible thing in not only her stance, but her eyes. They weren't as hard-no longer rubies, but liquid fire instead-and they were a bit kinder than before.

"Well Koal, I suppose I can let you off the hook this time, but you need to be more wary of where you tread. Know that when a scent is oppressive, it's most likely someone's territory. You must ask to hunt on pack territory. So, now that you know, I can try and be civil with you."

"Thank you, Hito." Koal said as he rose back up. Koal's fear soon faded as his motionless personality returned. He was still young after-all, therefore it was understandable that he did not do the right thing and ask if he could hunt in her lands. Koal's almost white eyes scanned over Hito since Koal has never seen a red wolfess before in his life, although he thought about it for a moment. "Perhaps she is like me, different.." Koal said in his mind.

Koal rose his head toward the air, trying to pick up the scent of the deer that had fled when Hito scared it away. Perhaps there is till time to catch it, although since it is on the run, chasing it down might be a bit hard and challenging, but maybe there was a stealthy approach such as following it then striking it down when the time was right. Koal looked at the other wolves. "I didn't mean to scare anyone..." Koal said as his left ear tilted to slightly.

Rin and the other two relaxed when Hitoban did and nodded to Koal as he spoke, "Noone ever means to scare anyone..." said Kaze before he turned and looked at Hitoban, "Whos your new friend?" he asked motioning his head towards Desparado. Rins eyes flashed briefly with exaustion but as soon as the exaushion had shown it vanished.

Hitoban snorted softly in surprise at the informal way he treated her as soon as she'd said she'd be civil. She said "civil" not "friendly" right? She could practically smell the naivety radiating off of him. She managed not to roll her eyes, but didn't correct him. She caught him sniffing the air, and wondered if he was attempting to locate the buck again. She didn't want him to hunt the buck. He had been wonderful size for her pack, and she planned on pursing him later. Perhaps the intruder could come and have whatever was left over when they were done with it, but Hitoban doubted there would be much. She pulled her attention away from watching the wolf called Koal to answer Kaze.

She smiled from Kaze to Desperado, and tried to shrug off her bad mood. "Everyone, this is Desperado. She will be joining our pack. Desperado, this is Rin, Kaze, and Fallen."

Rin, Kaze, and Fallen all grinned but it was Rin who spoke first, "Hello Desparado, and welcome." Rin really didn't know if she should have said the welcome part cause Fallen, Kaze, and herself weren't really a part of Hitobans pack but she had already said it, so she couldn't really help it. And now that Rin thought about it, she remembered that she had said while she was still seriously ill that she was thinking about leaving after Dawns' pups were born....but she hadn't really had time to think on it recently...and though she really didn't want to leave, she knew that in the future she would be more of a hindrence to any pack one way on another and she thought that maybe it would be better off if she just left for good. Kaze noticed Rins expression grow distant as she thought to herself before exchaning glances with Fallen who gave a almost silent sigh but then turned her attention back to Desparado with a kind smile, "Yes, Welcome from both me and Kaze as well." Kaze nodded in acknowledgement.

Koal's ears moved low to his neck, he was feeling that he wasn't welcomed. Koal couldn't decided weather he should continue to stay, or leave before trouble begins to start up while he's around. Koal wasn't even sure as to what he should say next. Should he introduce himself or keep quiet. Koal knew that Alpha and Alphess act aggressive to intruders.

"Hito.." Koal said calmly. "Should I leave?" Koal asked before sitting down. It was wrong to travel into this part of the area, but he had too do it to follow the scent of the deer that fled a while ago. Koal's stomach began to growl softly since he hasn't ate for a few hours now since he started his hunt for a meal.
